Just had an email today! My previous emails up till point told me I would be paying £39 a month with the increase. No issues with that.
Today's email with DD notification change....£116 per month! An increase of 197%!
Stupid question, but do they have a clue about what they are doing?0 -

GAS standing charge Price CAP is 28.8p per day.
Electric standing charge Price CAP is 25.6p per day (varies per region)
they cannot charge 28p for electricty per day. OFGEM will not let them. Expect another OFTM price change email from them soon!
Couldn't find this info - also does the standing charge cap apply to all tariffs or only those subject to the 'default/standard tariff' cap?I think....0 -

The detail is here if you want to pour over it:

Hi,here's my story:
100% increase in direct debit in 3 months!!!
Not only that, increase is UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!
What happened to lower bills during summer?
Cheap Energy Club search not working for me. Shows Outfox as cheapest!
Doesn't take account of their latest hikes, any chance of updating,thanks.0 -
That’s interesting. I left them at midnight on Friday. On Saturday morning I had a call from a Leicester number which I didn’t answer as I was driving. I called the number back but couldn’t get through.
The number was 0116 465 4469. Was this the number you had the call from?
Well that's interesting...
I started a switch a couple of weeks ago but have had letters telling me it's been blocked by OFTM.
I was £47 in debt but have now cleared that to zero with a one off payment, still apparently blocked.
I've had lots of missed calls from a Leicester number too, answered one but it was automated crap related to energy...
Anyone else getting blocked?0 -
Clearly, as the Energy Club is completely unable to work out how much I'm being screwed for (Joined April, I've just hit the 100% uplift club), anyone know any other comparison tools where I can find out who to go with? The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.

Yes, I posted a link to all the Ofgem accredited comparison sites some time ago

Sadly the list is quite meaningless as far as 'accreditation' goes. The list (which can also be found here) includes Energylinx who are still offering 12 month old terms and conditions for potential customers to read. Just like MSE I gather they're not interested in giving accurate information.
If the information for the first supplier checked on the first site visited is incorrect it's either a heck of a coincidence or suggests accuracy is not of great importance.0 -

There's about a dozen comparison site to choose from in that list - why not pick another if you don't like one of them?
Not that I think they are listed in any order of preference, but the first one mentioned in wavelet's list is quotezone, so I'm not sure why you point out a possible error for one supplier on the energylinx site
(But if you think there is an error, perhaps contact the site involved with the details - I'm sure they will be happy to correct any error you have found, but probably are far too busy to read MSE in the possibilty of finding out.
With over 70 odd different suppliers, each of which often have may different tariffs on offer, it's not surprising that the odd error for the odd tariff may occur on one of the numerous price comparison sites, especially when that error does not relate to price itself)
I would use a price comparison site to compare the prices of the various suppliers & tariffs.
It's often good to use more than one site, just to confirm everything. It's unlikely that two independent sites will have exactly the same errors. So if you find two with the same details, that is probably correct.
If you are still unsure, then look directly to the supplier to confirm those prices offered, and any other matters that interest you in, such as the full terms and conditions of that tariff.0 -

The intention of my post was to highlight the fact that being an Ofgem accredited comparison site doesn't necessarily make it a good site to use. I would urge anyone using one to double check the details on actual suppliers website.
Which brings me to your next point. I'm assuming you haven't actually looked yourself or you would see that those terms are not only different to the current ones, but some of the details are contradictory. (due to many U-turns I expect).
And for the error itself, yes I did contact them, and they replied to sayThe T&Cs on our website are provided by the supplier,0
