    It's all Amazon, mate.
Time to sell the MacBook(s) elsewhere.

Amazon don't want you as a customer I'm afraid..

So if they decide they no longer want me as a customer they don't have to allow returns of an unused item. Surely that is not allowed..

Largely the same as UK consumer laws ... at worst it'll be exactly as per the "EU 2 year rule".

Had an amazon UK account closed 4 years ago and have been happily using amazon ever since with a different account. The macbook was bought on that .it site

Tried calling again today and get told to email, contacted support on live chat from a newly created account who told me they can not start the process of a refund with a closed account and again referred me to email

So do what I said earlier, sell the item, even if you make a small loss.
Amazon are entitled to close your account if they choose to.

Customer returns for a change of mind are at the goodwill of the retailer. It can be argued that as Amazon advertise the ability to return goods it forms part of the contract, they'd already notified you they don't wish to trade with you any more. I'm not sure where you'd stand with that, I presume it would be for an Italian court to decide.

Just sell it as you have the others.

Unless of course, that return is within the 14 days allowed under the relevant EU legislation and the item doesn't fall into one of the exempted categories.
  • Amazon rightly take a tough stance with people who p1ss them about and abuse their returns policy especially with high value items.
