Ticketed At Own Home

Can you imagine my luck?
I came home and saw a car parked in my bay. I contacted the estate agent and I was instructed to park in a visitors bay 10 minutes walk from home. I went to the visitors bay and the bays were full so I parked in an open space (unmarked bay) outside of my home and left a note on my dash board stating that someone had parked in my bay.
I went out to check on my car and saw that it had been ticketed with the reason **Not parked in a designated area** I contacted the estate agents and they passed me onto the parking company who basically said, all I can do is appeal the ticket and that I should look for another visitors bay to park my car. Meanwhile, the other car is still parked in my bay but, the car has also been ticketed.
Problem, I admitted I was the driver.
Please, kindly advise me on if I can go ahead and appeal or if I should just pay the fine.
Thank you very much for your time.

there is no fine, just an invoice
we never tell anyone to pay any such invoice, especially when the parking company have failed to keep your space clear
I would contact the MA for the area who employed said PPC and complain to them and get them to have the pcn cancelled
it would seem that unless you comply with their wishes and use a V bay then you will continue to be ticketed, so dont do this and dont get any more
I would also appeal to the PPC as detailed on their parking charge notice after reading the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread, post #1, as well as complaining the the MA for the estate as well
but your best option is that the MA cancels this ticket after having seen common sense, but they rarely do
which PPC was it that ticketed your vehicle ?0 -
Thank you for your response Redx!
Can you please confirm what is meant by MA?
The PCN was from Link Parking.
I will make an appeal but I'm guessing I will need to ommit all references to registered keeper?0 -
Managing Agent.
Youre not appealing to the MA, youre asking them to cancel it.
here is the issue with these PARASITES
They dont do *anything* if asomeone else parks in your bay. They jsut issue them an invoice, and youre left trying to find a space. If you cant find one - tough, have another invoice0 -
as above, in simple terms
"heads we win , tails you lose" , "keep parking incorrectly and you lose each and every time"
even the MP,s know all about LINK parking sc@ms , so LINK are NOT on your side
the only way out of this is for the MA to cancel it, because they probably employed the parking par@sites
bear in mind there is no "common sense" with these people, it doesnt pay for fancy cars and 6 holidays a year, your money pays for those
you can see this happening in this thread too

When you say your own bay do you mean one that appears on your lease/tenancy agreement (not sure whether you own or rent?)
And when you say estate agent do you mean the letting agent?
The posts above are correct - you need to contact the Managing Agent for your estate - they may be able to cancel if they have the contract with Link. Alternatively, if the contract is with the freeholder/Management Company and Link you'll need a contact there who has the authority to act.
Redx is right - don't continue parking there and you may want to be wary of visitors bays. Some developments aren't keen on residents using the visitor spots.0 -
I must admit that I was confused by the terminology and always am, due to me being a homeowner and owning the freehold and so my drive is my property and all of it is on my Land Registry deeds
this letting and rental topic confuses me and I am sure people say one word and mean another, hence why its important for tenants and leaseholders to get their facts exactly right
but LINK will only care about obtaining their money and hoping this person "reoffends" , so unless the M.A. intervenes I can see this one going the same way as the dozens and dozens of other LINK PARKING cases we have seen on here , even MP,s have had these issues and spoken about them in parliament so what chance does anyone else have ?
I have always been grateful to people like Neil above who have helped us see though the fog on this topic0 -
I very much appreciate your response.
Sorry for the confusion here. I have contacted the letting agent who has advised that they have no control over Link Parking (LP) despite the fact that they referred me to LP in the first instance.
I will go ahead and make an appeal. Can you please advise on the steps to take?0 -
already mentioned
appeal to LINK PARKING and complain to the MA asap and insist on a cancellation
LINK wont cancel unless the MA tells them to
as for the offending vehicle in your bay, LINK can only ticket it , nothing more , they may do this several times, like say once a day, but they cannot remove it, so your issue continues0 -
The sticky thread for NEWBIES has a ready made one size fits all appeal template in post 1 for the keeper to send.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Did you make a note of the registration number of the car in your bay?
If so, you can get the keeper's details from the DVLA for a few pounds.
Then do what the PPCs do...
Send an invoice to the RK of the errant vehicle.
