Agreed. Just pointing out that there is a (small) element of ambiguity with this promotion.
Anyway, I'm going to break the ice...
...has anyone managed to do more than 5 transactions on the same debit/credit card?
Having caught up with over 1000 posts I noted that some of you did a maximum of 5 transactions a few days ago. Was that because your 6th attempt was unsuccessful?
Someone mentioned that you can do more than 5 i think. :cool:“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

And correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't UK contract law state that any ambiguity should be seen in favour of the party that didn't write the contract?“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -
Tried to switch leccy from oftm to Scottish power a week ago. Today got an email saying switch cancelled as SP do not recognise my current supplier. In the last week the cheapest fix has gone up by 150 quid. I know others have much greater challenges but I am annoyedI think....0

I just did 5 per transaction so that it looked like I was booking weekly travel and incase the site crashed and I'd wasted time filling my basketApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
So I can't see that buying items with the intention of returning them which is permitted under the store t&c which probably specifically say returns within x days for any reason are acceptable is fraudulent either?
The only thing I would note is that morally buying all these tickets may push prices up fro those who do need to travel on a service or in the extreme even prevent them buying a ticket or a train that eventually runs half empty.
You mean like all the trains I've been on recently where "we apologise that due to staff shortages there are no seat reservations in place today"“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -

There's not much ambiguity in this part of the contract you enter into when you register with their site:All FirstGroup companies reserve the right to:
(a) withdraw at any time any Nectar points that were granted by FirstGroup:
(i) in the case of any fraudulent activity;
(ii) in error - as solely determined by Nectar and/or FirstGroup (for example if the Nectar logo was mistakenly displayed on the view item page of an excluded item);
They could still take everyone's points back :eek: but at least we can point to their own small print in the email nowApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

I wouldn't be surprised if he was organised all the way to May. :rotfl:“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -

Ah ok.
Just to inform others, when I tried a 6th transaction on the same card it wouldn't process. I also checked with my bank to see if a block had been put in place but they said no. They said and I quote: 'you seem to do a lot of small transactions - £2.50 at Boots, £5 at Superdrug, £3 at Wilko'. :rotfl:
Another credit card worked fine though on the Guinness site.
To the MSE team (if you're reading): the terms on Guinness state '1,000 Nectar points applies to all GWR Advance Single fares booked via link above' as highlighted in screenshots above. Just following terms of the promo...we're all :A:A:A:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member
