Thanks mostlyyou can use the monitor but you'll have to buy a vga switchy converting type box - expensive0 -
It doesn't matter if the PS2 is selling like hotcakes it is old...last generation. Sony has to sell its PS3 and lots of high profit making software so what is the best way to get people to buy? Well the tried and tested method is just to stop making the old model.
Best thing is to buy it cheap...keep it a couple of years then sell and buy the next cheap old console and sell that in a couple of years and so on....what a drag.
Don't forget the 360 has lots of free arcade games, however I still think the DS maybe best for the young girls.0 -
interesting reading!
Can anyone help me to decide - should I find them instock - should I go for DS or PSP for my husband. He has a PS2 but thought I'd buy him one of the handheld ones..... thanks

I'd say DS.0

If he likes the PS2 than I would buy a PSP, a lot of the games are ported over or are newer rehashed versions of the games from the PSone and PS2 I just wish they would sort out a gran turismo game for it. graphics are brilliant for a handheld too and is more like the other Sony consoles.
The DS is brilliant and I take it all over the place and it gets more play than the PS2, Xbox 360 and PSP thanks to the R4 so it is a very tough call which one to buy. Sorry I have just made your decision harder.0 -
Being the sad case that I am, I at some point have owned the following:
PS2
PS3
XBOX 360
WII
DS
I still have the DS, PS3 & Wii, which says something.
Personally I wouldnt bother with the xbox 360 - it used to have too many problems although I believe they may have solved these on newer models & i just didnt rate it.
If I were you I wouldn't bother with the PS3 - although imo the best games console on the market its expensive and for hardcore gamers really - plus with its 60gb hard drive its more than a games machine - i have loads of mp3s, videos & photos stored on mine & i also use it to surf the net on my tv.
PS2 -Great price, good games & will do what you want it to do but is it cool enough for your kids.
wii -before i got my ps3 this was probably the best purchase i have ever made. great fun, great games for all the family. imo the games & console are reasonably priced if you shop around. the only problem you will have is getting hold of one.
ds - brilliant fun, handheld so they dont need to hog the tv all the time, great games which can be picked up cheaply on ebay & if you shop around you should be able to pick up a ds & a game for under £100 easily.
I'd say go for the wii - but dont pay silly money just check on the net to see where they are going to be in stock & try & get hold of one.
check here for stock - http://www.wiifinder.co.uk/
If you can't get a wii then I would say a ds.
Hope this helps.
