... I've asked muvva if she can remember how much it cost
OH recently threatened to throw away my out of date oats so I figured I'd better use them up and replace them with in-date ones. I do like overnight oats. Not much of a sweet / dessert person but I could do crumble and hobnobs. OH likes his porridge Scottish style but not keen on using these as they are OOD. Any other suggestions?
My Husband is the same way... so if something is getting close to the BB Date, it has an accident and goes into a different container or the area where the date is kept on the package is weirdly damaged!- May 2021 Grocery Challenge : £198.72 spent / £300 Budget

Haha, Happy_Sloth I like your style! Some are in a cereal container but some are still in the bag. They are two years out of date (BBE so still fine) but guess they do need using up sooner rather than later.
Flapjacks are a good idea as well.
He's usually okay with dates but two years seems a bit much for him9 -
When OH is out of the way, find an open bag that aren't out of date, then gather the out of date oats, a container and a large bowl. Empty all the oats into the bowl and mix together, mark the container clearly "CCW007's oats" and refill the bag to where it was. Then put the rest into the container 😉2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Well here we are. Crunch day for energy costs. Time to work how how I can cut my outgoings. I already started with the supermarket orders. I do like nice cheeses, good olive oil etc! Oh and lots of organic - which costs a premium. Anyhow my technique is to run rampant with the initial shopping list, then take a red marker to the extravagances. Which so far is shaving off £10 - £15 a shop

In fact, so do I!However, I've already got yarn bought for that purpose, so I must get on. My official excuse reason for delay is that I needed new glasses (couldn't see properly, so couldn't knit). This is actually true! Now my eyes have stopped watering both due to awful old specs and the cost of a new pair of varifocals, I've no more excuses.Well... except that the first thing I need to finish is an extremely complicated patterned jumper for DD that I had to pull back because I'd made a major mistake or 3. A head injury makes my perception of lines and patterns dubious. (It's very hard work, even without lousy vision That's how I knew I needed different specs!
) And she's arriving for the weekend tonight and I want completing it to be a surprise. So I can't knit. Phew! I mean darn it...

I like to eat oats straight from the packet with cold milk and have noticed that they tend to lose flavour the older they get. I think Floss's suggestion of mixing old and new is a good one.7
