There have been many, many, many variants already. Very few make the news though as they are weaker/less contagious and therefore don't become a 'common' variant. The ones we typically hear off are those that are either more contagious, or cause worse symptoms/higher hospitalisation/deaths, or both (such as the Delta variant). The scientific community will, of course, analyse and watch closely all new variants they become aware of to try and contain any problematic ones.
Managed to bring my second jab forward to 13th July today. 8 weeks exactly from the first one. And I see they are hoping to open up vaccinations to all over 18s by the end of the week, which is great news.February wins: Theatre tickets11 -

Long ago when I was learning Greek, I found that the alphabet goes very nicely to the tune of “The Skye Boat Song”, and also, for a quicker version, to the tune of “She’ll be Coming Round the Mountain”.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

I suppose when we run out of Greek and Thai letters, there's always the Elder Futhark Runic alphabet - only 24 characters, but it's 24 we didn't otherwise have.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)13

My Dd who is 24 has been able to book her 1st jab for Friday. My 22 year old son can't book his yet though..
Edit - Well I thought I'd check for DS and could book his too!I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
I'm taking DD2, 25, for her first jab tomorrow. DD1, at 28, was "done" a couple of weeks ago, but DS3, her twin brother, only received his invite the day before yesterday, the same day as DD2. Slightly bizarre...
In other news, DD2 & I had a glorious "day out" to a lovely sub-tropical garden on the coast to the west of us today, whilst on our way to another errand. It was interesting to note three kinds of people at the gardens; the "couldn't care less" home counties types barging round, braying at the tops of their voices, having to be reminded to wear masks indoors & completely unaware (apparently) of other people around them, the "shrinking violets" skittering away round every corner, trying to stay at least 30 feet from all other human beings & masked to the nines even out in the open air, draped with rain jackets & umbrellas despite the blazing sunshine (well, this IS the UK, after all) and the "relatively normals" who were polite, considerate of personal space & smiled a hello at people when passing. Sadly these were in the minority. The last year or so does seem to have exaggerated people's usual tendencies somewhat - but maybe I'm just more aware of things that have always been there? It just felt a bit like being inside an old-style Giles cartoon...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)14 -
