The overnight rain has filled the water buts up, should keep the veg plants happy for a few day's.  Also helped with me getting a better night's sleep due to being cooler.

I am only one in the family to take a bath, use it as part of my pain management and I only add Epsom salts to it, no soap or bubble bath, bath oil etc., used - I wash beforehand under a shower then soak in the bath - any idea if this would be ok to use on food plants or flowers.  I know you can use Epsom salts on tomatoes and other plants but not as yet investigated how much you would use and if you add anything else except water - must go and peruse the gardening thread, joined it but not read it for a long, long time.

The rain has been on and off here for the past 24hrs- it's nice to have a day off watering the veg but it's windy and cold! 😔 
My compost bin arrived this week - we were going to start it off today but it's too miserable out there - hopefully the weekend will be a bit better! I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that it works - it will save me a fortune in the long run and will definitely help with the veg beds 😉 
Prepareathome- I think it would depend on the concentration of Epsom salts in the water 🤔 I know that people normally use quite a lot so perhaps you would need to dilute it further before you used it 🤔

Epsom salts are often sold for gardening (I get my bath ones from garden suppliers as they are MUCH cheaper!). I doubt the amount that you put in your bath would be stronger than is usually applied to the garden - although having said that, opinions vary as to whether they are a good thing. One for some research probably... or maybe a post on the greenfingered forum?

They've got the rest of their lives to remember (and resent) if they weren't totally/absolutely free to make their own decisions (and without them having the remotest idea what decision you would like to make on their behalf). 

That way you won't be at risk of them turning around in x years time going "I might have had a better job/career by now - if it weren't for your choice/or you influencing me to 'choose' your choice". Either way - it's down to them.

I've never been aware of any youngster in my circle harbouring a grudge or carrying resentment through the years MTSTM.

It's corrosive to carry the happenings of the past through life and can make people unpopular and isolate them in their own little bubble.

Some things in life require a parent to make a judgement and that remains until offspring become adults and form their own opinions.

So have we. Our wonderful local weatherman Owain has forecast gales . Bring it on and give the beaches and woodland in this area a respite from the hordes who've travelled to this area over sunny bank holidays and hot days and left a trail of devastation along a 20 mile coastline which due to rare and endangered species and other flora and fauna is under protected status. No bbqs, fires or alcohol allowed but rules ignored.

It was sheer hell for all emergency services already pushed to their limit due to the pandemic.

Right now I'd welcome 40 days and nights of rain. You'll have to knit faster with the ark Mardymar.
