We have several blueberry bushes, all in containers on the patio. This year we repotted them in fresh ericaceous compost, I managed to get hold of a bag before everything went south. They give us a good crop annually. No thieving bird problems here as our neighbourhood is heaving with cats (which brings its own problem of cat business being done in various as yet unplanted containers! I use small sticks to try to discourage them).Have just managed to get hold of some flour online. 2 x 5kg bags. It's enough for our small household as I'm only making one loaf per week. I bought from buywholefoodsonline. Should arrive in about a week's time. They also do much larger bags.12

Quick question, can you pickle the cooked vacuum sealed packs of beetroot? I can't stand the stuff, other half likes it but we've ended up with three packs and he can't get through it all so thought I could pickle it so it doesn't go to waste.13

I don't see why not, they're just cooked beetroot with nothing added and should be absolutely fine being pickled. Strangely enough I too have ended up with 3 packs as we've been getting one each week in the pub box we buy! I love the stuff but too much does my digestion no favours so I have to eat it not too often.11

3 deliveries ordered while on annual leave food delivery, tick, fridge tick , my hair clippers should have been tuesday, still waiting ,last chance tomorrow before back in work, monday. Been filling my cupboards steadily, ready for winter, possible scenarios, 2nd wave ensures a lockdown even more stricter, social distancing still in place and queuing in winter is more uncomfortable, brightside is supermarkets may have improved their delivery infastructure, maybe better testing etc.....lots of people lose their jobs , maybe more dangerous on the streets.....hopefully wont be that bad.. better to prepare....stay safe17

I dont want anyone to think I'm minimising their feelings but just wanted to state that in some ways this lockdown and 'timeout' is really making me appreciate what I have - 26 years ago today, I lost one of my best friends (who was only 27 years old) to a malignant brain tumour - one of the last things he said to me two days before he passed was that every time I was feeling crap about my life, I should remember all those people who would give anything to be in my position - crap or not - I'm alive, loved and get to see the sunrise.....wisest words that have ever been spoken to me and they resonate greatly at the moment and worth sharing......
Stay safe and happy x31
