I wish I still had my sewing machine. I sold my lovely one when daughter was about 1, as we needed the money for her next car seat, and we didn't have the space or the time back then. Now more of her toys are in her room, and she isn't inclined to put everything in her mouth anymore, I wish I still had it. Considering purchasing a cheap one, so I can make some masks etc, but also do better repairs on things at home. My hand sewing leaves something to be desired!February wins: Theatre tickets9

Freegle has shut for now and most freecycle groups are closed too.

Try ebay, look for items that are quite close geographically, some people dont like posting things that eavy so they state collection only. A courier could alo be arranged if you did find one, not that expnsive for heavy items either. Or try and see if there's a mutual aid group you can ask on near you, a sewing group etc...

Can you lovely folks give me some advice? I'm in the shielding group and avoiding close contacts. Despite being so called high priority, supermarket deliveries are still hit and miss so when I get one, I have to make the most of it. However freezer space is lacking. Was thinking of buying one but some neighbours have offered me the loan of a spare. Either way, the neighbour or delivery person might have to manouvre it into the house as not sure I can manage on my own. Or should I just suck it up and do without?

If you need one then get one. As long as they don't touch anything, wear a mask and you wipe anything they've touched with a bleach solution ad remove the packaging if there is any with gloves, you should be OK. It's a risk you'll have to take if you need one.
