New forever home, new focus!

So, we are getting there. 2 rooms have curtains up, so it's enough to save our blushes from the builders who are already working outside when we wake up! Many boxes are still in the garage so they will find their way in one by one over the next few weeks. Our main guest room is ready for my Nana to stay for Christmas, which is a priority, and the main thing is that we love our new home.
I've been for a couple of runs around the village - it is just over 4 miles so a nice one to do in the mornings. I'm looking forward to upping the mileage and exploring my surroundings over the next few weeks in the name of marathon training.
Moneywise, well it is still scary - the costs of moving are never going to be within budget are they? And of course with Christmas in the mix too, we really are looking at a lean January. Nothing that we can't handle, but we've just got to focus, not let it get us down, and wait for the costs to be absorbed properly so we can tackle things head on with positivity.
In the old days I would have been doing every survey site, mystery shop, ebay opportunity etc going, and would have thrown myself right into it, but with the new job, I need to focus on work life balance more so than before, so that is my priority, with me simply wanting to seize and retain control of the finances, rather than have them control me as they have done in the past.
So, whilst typing this, I am also meal planning for the next couple of weeks. Ready to hit 2019 on top of things!!

I keep finding myself running the same routes now though so I'm jealous of all your exploring now that you have moved!Original mortgage total: £140,000.00 (July 2015) Original mortgage end date: June 2040
