Sounds like the temp was too high, if too high that's what would happen, outside cook too fast whilst inside is still half done if at all.
The OP stated they tried again at a lower heat and that didn't work either, so it seems as though there is a fault somewhere, or it is just a very poor product.
Either way I would be trying to get my money back due to it not doing what it should.0 -
That is definitely a halogen cooker and not an air fryer0
-
Did you follow the cooking instruction for a halogen oven?
They work well but not if you think they are an air fryer, well the point is the phrase "air fryer" means nothing so you can say they are. However normal air fryers work the way they do becuase they have a much smaller capacity.
Halagens can be hard to use at first, but advice it out there. Unless you can convince them it is a crazy misuse of the word, but they (lot's of places not just b&m) have sold them like this for over 3 years now, so I doubt it.0 -
You have no legal right to return it just because you don't like the way it cooks your chips.
As several others have pointed out, the OP did not say they want to return it cos they didnt like the way it cooks chips. Please read what the OP says.
There is quite possibly a fault, or the goods are not fit for purpose.
I wold certainly try and return it
They may not give you a full refund. I know not everyone can do so and its not much use for the OP now but at least buying these type of items online, you do get more protection.
If they dont refund, i would then at least write to their HO expressing your dissatisfaction with their store and the product.0 -

Why would they not give a full refund?
I hope they would , i'm just saying what shops are like now , you never know. So tried to anticipate that by advising what to do next if they didnt get a refund. The OP has already said they contacted the store but they only offered a store credit.
Hopefully they will.0
