Indigo railway appeal

I have read the latest advice on the stickies and thought I knew what I needed to do. However, on the Indigo website, they seem to have made it as difficult as possible to make an appeal using your template.
First, I have to choose a reason to appeal (none of which apply - since I am the keeper and not necessarily the driver, I do not know what the situation was).
Second, they make me either identify myself as the driver or, if not, make me fill in the fields identifying the driver.
Finally, there is no space to paste the appeal wording.
I could get round each of these (by just picking a reason, by entering nonsense for the driver and by uploading the wording of the template as a separate document). But I know it is important to get the first step right, so wanted to ask if anyone has any advice or experience of using the Indigo appeals site.
Thanks in advance for your help with this and many thanks for the hours of work that must have gone in to this forum to help people like me.

in the case of indigo and a RAILWAY car park , you await the notice to keeper then copy/paste the template letter that is in the newbies section , do not alter or add extra bits
1: you are wasting there time and trying to get an appeal code
2: you are trying to get this to time out (6 mths)
if you cannot appeal online you so it via the email info given on there notice to keeper , or indeed post it with proof of posting
notice to keeper , is not the ticket that was on the car , its the letter they send after 29 days
please go and re read the newbies thread0 -
Cat - thanks for your reply, but I know all that - I did read the newbies thread. Also, I know what the NTK is - a PCN was not put on the car - there is no requirement to display proof of payment on the car at that car park.
My queries were all about using the Indigo website. There is no email address on the NTK - the only alternative is a postal address (which I will use and get a proof of posting per the advice I have read on the forum if that is the best suggestion).0 -
i expect that indigo have altered there appeal system to make it akward , I also suggest that your appeal by post will probably be to ZZPS
just send it with POP , and expect no reply to it , no code etc etc , for the sake of a £1 or so I would also send a second but by signed for ,
the BPA will chirp up "proof of postage is not proof of delivery" , when you complain about no popla code
edit: ask post office about 2d tracking , think this is only small parcel , but no sig needed , they do not know , you know its been delivered0 -
until the new CoP comes in , this is the way sc@mmers work, which the MP,s are fully aware of0

People have mentioned this before but you can appeal leaving it blank (not ticking the driver box) and putting in the obvious words (rude if you like...) instead of the driver's name/address.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Update for those interested, and for info for anyone in a similar situation.
I submitted my appeal online - it works fine to choose any reason, attach my letter based on the standard template and put in nonsense for the driver details.
I have received no response to my appeal - no rejection letter or POPLA code. But I have now received a letter from ZZPS, adding to the 'debt' and increasing the threats.
I will of course be ignoring this, safe in the knowledge that they can't touch me as they don't know who the driver was.0 -
It is the will of Parliament that these scammers be put out of business. Hopefully that will take place in the near future. In the meantime involve your MP, the poor dears are buckling under the weight of complaints about these scammers. Read this one which I wrote earlier
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.
Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Third Reading in late November, and, with a fair wind, will become Law next year.
All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Did you get any kind of acknowledgment that you had appealed? I suspect they will deny ever getting it.
You should complain to the BPA that a debt collectors letter has been received despite an appeal in progress. They won't do anything but evidence of inaction is useful to show to your MP.0 -
The DfT have told PoPLA that an independent appeal should be offered where railway byelaws apply.
Add that in to your complaint to the BPA and your MP.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

as per my first post
"1: you are wasting there time and trying to get an appeal code"
as per post 4
"just send it with POP , and expect no reply to it , no code etc etc , for the sake of a £1 or so I would also send a second but by signed for ,
the BPA will chirp up "proof of postage is not proof of delivery" , when you complain about no popla code
the company KNOW that 99.9% of any cases that go to POPLa will be kicked out
they are also aware that the BPA/POPLa are watching and counting "no contest (no pay) cases , for which , sanctions will soon start being applied
I expect that if you contact the BPA , indigo will simply say they sent a code to you , perhaps you are still in the appeal stage window , in which case get the BPA to allow you to resubmit , or in the case of POPLa code being issued and less than 28 days , ask the BPA to tell the french garlic munchers to resend it to you
its obvious this is going to happen again and again0
