Scottish Power

We are with Scottish power for both gas and electric. Long story short, the bills got too high and we ended up with a large debt on both accounts and they advised we switch to a key card meter and have the debt deducted at a set amount every week. The problem we have that’s not being made clear is that every time they send us a statement. It shows every time we’ve topped the card up and it reducing the debt but then another amount gets added to the accounts and takes the debt back up again. It’s like we’re still being charged a quarterly bill despite paying as we go. The debt will never be paid at this rate and we don’t get a clear answer as to what the charges that added are actually for?? I've been to the Ombudsman and they were not much help either.
in total since oct 2017 they have added £1,331.36 to my gas account and £1,143.52 to my electric. How is this possible to get charges like this when you pay as you go with card and key meters????

You may get a better response if you post this on the 'Energy' board.

This board is for 'LPG, Heating Oil, Solid and Other Fuels', not mains electricity or mains gas.

Perhaps the mods could move it for you.
