O/S Daily Monday 26th November 2018
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH and myself up enjoying first peaceful cuppas, I'm showered, dressed and eating my brekkie, he's watching tv. DS1 is getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly as he'll go for a run.
Lunch yesterday was roast lamb, roasties, mash, cauli/broc cheese, carrots, peas, yorkshires and gravy, I cooked the swede left it in the pan to mash before putting on my plate and promptly forgot so found it in the pan after we'd eaten, it's now in the fridge so will be used for another meal. Tonight will be either fish, chicken or gammon and egg.
Back to work today for me, and more than pleased as DH has the week off - he's supposed to be decorating the porch and the kitchen, going to leave him to it!
Keep safe and well x

Good morning and thanks for starting off NMLC.
It's cold, dark and wet here. Yesterday was showery, so I didn't get any washing out. I had quite a bit, it had built up which is unusual for me, I normally keep on top of it.
I used the tumble dryer a bit though, to get it out of the way.
Wasn't out at all yesterday, but I caught up with a few jobs.
Today I'll visit a friend this morning, then go out to pick up a prescription, that's it really.
Thinking of everyone who is ill or struggling with life.
Take care folks.0 -
Morning all
Cold here but meant to be an ok day with rain due tomorrow, back to work for me the weekends really do seem to fly by, not too long to go before we break up though so not too bad.
OH and I spent a while yesterday making up two huge batches , one of lamb casserole and one beef casserole we cooked them off and will have some tonight when we get in and freeze the rest in portions of two, its so handy after a long day at work to have a meal ready for us.
Must pull out dd's Birthday presents and wrap them tonight ready for Wednesday and OH for Sunday, its also my BIL on Saturday, its a very expensive time of year !
Christmas shopping is almost done so that's something at least.
We took the dog for a lovely walk yesterday and then stopped at the pub we had a lovely afternoon spending an hour or so in there with lots of other dog walkers we know and had a couple of drinks, OH cooked when we got it, it was most enjoyable !
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning

I've had a horrible cold and have been tired for about two weeks. It finally seems to be going, I managed to get a few things done over the last couple of days, without feeling like I'm going to collapse in a heap half an hour later
I'm behind with my Christmas shopping, I'm hoping to have caught up by the end of the week. I like to be organised by the beginning of december, apart from some things that I buy when they come on offer mid-december. Well, one thing but I buy three of it, lol.
I was hoping to have those tree branches sorted by now but I've been ignoring them, I did a bit of chopping yesterday and will carry on doing a bit each day til they're all gone. The chickens are going to have a lovely thick layer of leaves in their run soon.
Not much else going on here, work is up to date (not much has come in lately) and I'm taking Scampi out for an extra walk each day. Just an amble up and down my road after lunch, with lots of treats and keeping him calm when pushbikes appear. Those stupid people have really made him scared of bikes again, I should've just pushed the little sods under a bus the first time I saw them

Morning All
Nippy here this morning time for the jumpers to come out I guess.
Good work day yesterday and i did manage to do enough to be able to justify a Christmas filmStill a bit to finish off but at least I did a big chunk. Taff thanks for your concern and yes it feels like too much at the moment but I'm afraid my work is feast or famine so I have to make the most when its on the table as next week there may be nothing. December is my worst month too nobody wants training around Christmas so work disappears again.
Not a course today though its banana day  my course on Thursday though is Dealing with Stress so I was taking some tips when prepping yesterday. We will have to go through the moan about not liking shopping on a Monday and heaven help me if Morrisons are out of stock of anything. Leaving early today as I need to call into Costco on the way. Mum is out of kitchen rolls and needs them today or my name will be mud. Will grab the chance to get diesel for the week as its usually quite a bit cheaper than anywhere else
Food wise we will eat out probs at the Italian again as her favourite pub is still closed. Major benefit of Monday shopping is the Italian does a deal on any pizza or pasta for 4.95 ...freshly cooked and enough for 2 meals usually so a proper bargain and only available on a Monday
Has anyone seen Lainey lately? I miss her tales of Lu
TA good to hear from you
nan how was Dad? Do I need to fire up the charabang to ship them all to the coven again?
Right time to crack on enjoy your day everyone0 -
:hello: Good Morning, Oldstylers - doesn't feel quite as cold here today
nmlc - thanks for starting today's thread. Hope today goes smoothly in work and that OH manages to 'crack on' with decorating your porch
.
ScarlettRibbons - Enjoy your visit with your friend later.
redruby - your Sunday sounds absolutely brilliant ...................... dog walk - pub in good company - lunch cooked by OH :j.
tru - sorry to hear that you've had a nasty cold hanging over you, but good to hear that it's finally making its way elsewhere.
Nelski - hoping that 'banana shopping' goes well for you and DM today and enjoy your lunch.
((((Healing Hugs)))) for all who are in need of them - thinking especially of TA, Holly, poppy, -taff, Hester and CHW and everybody else who is going through a bad time just now.
I've had a very busy week with Nathan-sitting followed by a weekend of 'The Bobster' which rounded off with taking him for his first ever visit to Santa. He had his face painted which I thought sounded like a great idea at the time - 'Pirate Pete'! hmmm - 2yr old hands and a face with black eye patch / black moustache / black beard is NOT a good mix. At least I had baby wipes in his bag :T.

Good morning all
Thank you for starting us off nmlc
Good to see you TA, I can understand why you haven't felt you could post.
I often write long posts and then delete.
Thinking of all those who are strugglingIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Good morning all,
TA it's good to hear from you. Don't worry if you ever don't sound "full of the joys". We understand and we'd rather hear from you than not. It's a hard thing to go through. Not just the firsts but the flashbacks and the major life adjustments that come with it.
This morning I need to go food shopping, then I need to wrap a parcel of [STRIKE]plastic junk[/STRIKE] pre-owned treasure that the HT has sold on ebay and then take it to the Post Office. We are splitting the proceeds as I am the one who has sorted, photographed and listed the items so that has made me slightly more enthusiastic about the process. It also means less clutter in the house so that can only be good.
I didn't decorate the cake yesterday - I decided to wait and check with the recipient exactly what fruit and nuts were acceptable when I spoke to him last night. That'll be a job for later today or tomorrow then.
Take care all of you0 -

I wish you wouldn't delete them SO. This thread is about our everyday and the ups and downs of often fairly mundane lives ...refer to my post above
I would love to hear more about your day and we can fight as to who's was the dullest :rotfl: By the way does your mum need a place in the charabang?

Morning. The kitten was lovely. Just like our Boz when he was a kitten. I love all my cats I have 3 jinks who is 15 and is a moggie and Fifi who is 4 she is a Bristish shorthair in blue cream. Boz who is 1 and the ragdolls but have to admit ragdolls are the best cats so friendly and a little dog like he will play fetch for a short time and he is so lovable. I like dogs too. We did have one but we are not in enough now I work so would get left for to long ours died off old age a couple of years ago.
The film was really good we went to see I am working later I need to call in Tesco for some bits after I drop dd at school0 -
