Well, nearly
From 3's Ts & Cs
That’s why we’ve set a usage cap at 1,000 GB, in order to identify commercial use of the service, for example, which is not permitted under the Terms for Three Services.
I appreciate that 1000GB is an awful lot!
My BT router is already showing more than 1Tb of data for my smart TV alone this month, and 189Gb for my laptop, and we're not yet half way through the month!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
For large parts of the country this will never happen.
There are still large areas with no 3g coverage let alone 4g and so will almost certainly never get 5g0 -
Since a text can take anything from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours to arrive at my mobile when at home I don't see 5G killing the landline provider any time soon. Also, for 20 miles in every direction from my home 4G barely shows as a single bar.
I'd also object to carrying my Smart TV or PC upstairs to the front bedroom every time I wanted to use it reliably
Take a look at a coverage map from any of the mobile providers, then knock at least 20% off their absurdly optimistic coverage projections and you'll see huges swathes of the country will not have a usable consistent high speed net access signal from 5G.
For example, all of the area listed in my first paragraph is showing as great for 4G (even indoors) when that is definitely not the case - and I've switched Access network providers 3 times trying to get one that works consistently.0 -
