Re-reading their letter, they want you to send a receipt for attending the 5-a-side establishment IF you were there. They are silent on what to do if you were not, therefore it does depend upon whether you were there or not. Their poorly constructed, grammatically incorrect letter leaves the reader with no defined option if they were not attending the 5-a-side establishment.

‘GOALS’ is essentially a 5aside football organisation, for amateurs and hiring pitches etc.

    It said:

    7th October 2019
    Dear ‘me’

    Re: our client - ukcpm
    Claim number xxxxxxx

    We act for ukcpm.

In relation to the charge that was incurred at wise campus on 17th June 2018, can you kindly confirm whether you were using the facilities of ‘GOALS’.

If so, we kindly request a receipt be provided from them. This information can be sent to ‘person’@gladstonessolicitors.co.uk

    Yours sincerely

    Gladstone solicitors limited
So sounds like they’re no longer “confident” perhaps. But, should I respond to their letter or ignore it? Am I obliged to?

I wouldn’t read anything into that in terms of confidence. UKCPM are now the country’s most litigious car parking firm and alongside Gladstones are likely to plough on to the bitter end, hoping that somewhere along the way you will ‘crack’.

If you’ve got a receipt from GOALS, provide a copy, if you haven’t, there’s not much you can say by way of reply, I guess.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • UK car park management Ltd claim form
    Help please
Hi everyone I have got a claim a letter before court proceeding. I really need some advice please. I parked for 12 minutes and in a private land( A block of flats with parking ). I am a taxi driver. That was 12/11/2018, A friend advised me to ignore it as it’s a private land and they can’t do anything ( He mentioned he’s got about 4 of them). He said as long as it’s not an NCP carpark do not worry . Stupidly I took his advice on board and ignored it now I have some claim form paperwork from UK Car park management Ltd. I don’t know how to send a picture on this forum.otherwise I would. The defendant wrote on the particulates of claim that. ‏ The defendant has failed to settle their outstanding liabilities. From £60 before, they are asking me to pay £245.74.
I’ve been introduced to this website to seek help from the expert or maybe from someone who had the same issue and now all the steps to follow.
Would anyone please advise thank you so much in advance.

I agree, and they would NOT cancel if you had been using GOALS, Gridiron_Grump.

IMHO they are fishing for you to admit to driving and/or if you had shown a receipt they would have possibly bombarded you with a 'bargain offer' to settle, still at 3 figures.

    Ignore it.

Is the Notice to Keeper POFA compliant? I wonder why they are fishing like this?

You need to read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 as you now seem to have a court claim against you. But if you need any more help you must start your own thread, not jump on to anyone else’s, otherwise advice gets misdirected, confused and potentially very expensive.

Is the friend who so badly advised you offering help in defending this, or even better, offering to underwrite any costs you might have to pay?

Are you thinking out-loud that they may have messed up, and now might be looking to find a way to cover their tracks?

We won’t know until you check out that NtK for PoFA compliance.
