Ebay pending help

HI, I sold an item and forgot to change my email on the paypal section of the item I was selling (Thinking that as I had changed it all over Ebay and Paypal it would automatically change it as well).
It has been payed for but went to my old ophaned account (Blueyonder which I can't access anymore)
It was pending, seller said she has paid and screenshot her payment, I pointed out on her Paypal it is still under pending and not completed section.
This morning she mention she has cancelled it yet it is still pending in my ebay .
I'm unsure what to do now, if I go to resolve an issue would that effect her? If I get a payment via paypal direct and then mark as payment recieved would that work?
I have had other payments go through fine this week (after sending emails explaining new paypal address) .

Sorry if it's confusing, thanks for any help .

  • Can you add your old email (or the one she paid to) to your Paypal account?
  • Thank you no, I need to confirm it , which I can't do as I can't access that account.

  • Ah I see. Has the payment been refunded? If so what you do now depends on what the buyer wants to do. If she wants to cancel then do that or if she pays direct you can mark it as paid and let her know to ignore any payment reminders should she get them.
  • Not sure if it has been refunded , but she said she cancelled it , I guess it was stuck in that "Holding" area . I was just concerned that it was still showing Pending on my Ebay, I thought it cleared in an hour or so, such a pain! Thanks for the answer,

I thought you said you couldn't claim it? It would only clear once it had gone into a paypal account that can accept it, so until then it is pending and buyer is out of pocket for the funds. If buyer has cancelled it then it can still take several days to go back to them, so when looking for a new payment be very apologetic and be prepared to wait for another payment, if buyer does not wish to pay again (and many don't as it does mimic a common scam) then just politely suggest to buyer that you cancel the sale.

Incidentally, do not open an NPB claim as buyer will be rightly extremely annoyed, as far as they care they have paid and it is you that has made an error.

  • No I can't claim it, as it has gone to blueyonder account therefore pending. I was replying to theonlywayisup asking if it had been refunded. I'm guessing it doesn't actually come out of her bank account if it is pending/unclaimed?

You may struggle to send payment details as you can't send them via an ebay invoice as you can't change the paypal address.

  • As you haven't claimed the money it's in cyberspace. The buyer has cancelled and as has been explained, they will get their funds back but not immediately.

When they do, assuming they still want the item, you will have to manually send an invoice from your Paypal account to their Paypal account email - they should then be able to pay without issue.

The problem is on many accounts (all my private ones!) I can no longer see any associated emails for my buyers, so there is no way of sending an invoice.
