“Can you explain your reasoning on this?”
Hey Elsien.
Sorry I can’t get the quote function to work on my iPhone.
Both Visa and MasterCard chargeback rules allow a customer to dispute a transaction where the cancellation or refund policy wasn’t disclosed at the point of purchase. So this is applicable for all transactions made over the telephone as the merchant cannot prove the customer agreed to any T&Cs.
Works in other situations as well (no signed contract being one) but is guaranteed to work for telephone transactions. It’s a bit of a loophole really.0 -

Apparently in the time since its invention it has undergone the odd improvement...0 -

Existing customers only. They withdrew travel insurance for new customers a couple of years ago, unless you open the FlexPlus account, which has a monthly charge.0 -
I have often booked holidays on the phone where the agent has read out the terms and explained the cancellation policy, asking me to confirm that I have understood the terms, before closing the deal.
And calls are routinely recorded.0 -
Their travel insurance is only for their FLEX accounts, I paid on my credit card. I did think the answer would be no, so at some point I will give premier inn a ring.
It doesn't matter how you paid. If you have their insurance then you might be covered. EarthBoy points out that not all flex accounts include this.0 -

Except OP said they knew full well it was non-refundable. Are they expected to lie?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
