in Credit cards
Myself and my OH are due to go away for 3 days on this coming Sunday, however my Mum passed away yesterday so we are not going. I booked the room at premier inn on a saver rate knowing full well it was non-refundable but I payed on my nationwide credit card. Are either of them likely to refund me or am I just being optimistic?

Sorry to hear your bad news but no your credit card will not refund you.
You might want to contact Premier Inn to see whether they are prepared to move the dates for you OR you could try and sell the room on to somebody else.0 -
If it’s non-refundable then no.
They may as a gesture of goodwill refund it or allow you to move it to another date0 -
sorry to hear your news
speak to customer services - TBH, they are relatively good and accommodating, and based on your circumstances, i am sure they will be able to change a booking for you, or give you a credit on your account to go towards your next booking
will need to probably be as a good will gesture though, as legally, nothing to stop them saying no0 -
Do you have any travel insurance linked to a bank account ?0
-
Nationwide does roll in some sort of travel insurance with their flex account with them, subject to provisos. They send me a certificate each year to say that I have requalified. I'm sure someone on here said that it includes cover for UK stays.0

Their travel insurance is only for their FLEX accounts, I paid on my credit card. I did think the answer would be no, so at some point I will give premier inn a ring.SPC 0370

If you booked it online then no
If by chance you booked it over the phone then yes as no cancellation terms can be enforced. Sounds like it was online though.0 -
The credit card company will not refund you.0

Can you explain your reasoning on this? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Give them a ring. A few years ago they refunded me when i had a heart attack which was really good of them.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
