Well it is rather hard to say which is the default location for master sockets.
There are fitted where it makes sense for the building.
Modern apartment blocks may have the master socket in the main living area (I know lots that do).
My 30 year old house has it in the living room as do all the properties on this development. But I know others that don't.
So no hard and fast rule.0 -
Thanks guys fingers crossed its in the living room of wherever i move, if not i will give homeplugs a go0

Does your equipment have to be hardwired to the telephone line, or just 'the internet'?
If 'the internet' then you can connect many wifi access points in reverse to give an ethernet connection over wifi.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

It’s a tv box which only has an Ethernet port0 -

You can buy an adaptor that plug in it, to make it wireless.
Just be sure to avoid the cheap ones that do only the old (slow) frequencies unless that is enough for you!
You get it, plug it into your laptop. use an app/browser to tell it whire wirelesss to conneect to and the password. Then you just unplug it and plug it in to your desired device.
Though to be honest homeplugs are a better solution, even if they do tend to have on occasional 5 seconds of non working every now and then.0 -

Done a fair bit of research on homeplugs and i've decided if i need them i'll buy these...

Makes sense to buy BT Ones as my ISP is BT.
It will only be a small, modern apartment so hopefully it's stable with the homeplugs ( if i need them )0 -
Depending on where you end up having to put your router, you may find it useful to have ones that also extend your wifi.
These will do that, but there are others
