The house for the lady who ran the dance studio was definitely intended as an investment property - the millionaire lady said she'd teach her hubbie how to make it give them an income for life. The house for the other lady did seem more like it was for them to live in, but as with everyone else here I couldn't work out how she could afford it.0

Am so glad it wasn't just me who was so confused...:rotfl: I'd have had to say, thanks but no thanks to the house....who would want to be left with a £420000 mortgage????

I too was confused about this. Surely some more manageable 250k properties would have been more suitable. Even if they rented some rooms out, I can't see how they'd pay the mortgage and the mortgages can't have been in their names obviously as otherwise they'd of known (and wouldn't have got them in the first place).
So did she intend to pay their mortgages too?
Even if the intention is to pay it themselves, I'm not sure of their exact situations but wouldn't it be that benefits they may receive might be stopped if they have that kind of investment under their belts?
Also I think giving them the deposit to choose thier own house would have been better. After all its a home not a house, and they might have like to choose something appropriate themselves?0 -
I wondered this too, great programme though.0

It was really good to see other people were very confused on how these gifted people were going to pay the mortgage. Brilliant programme and there was not a dry eye in the house.0
-
We were wondering the same.
Even with the first being an investment property, I'm not sure that now is the right time to be doing new build purchases to let.
What if they can't let it? That's a big mortgage to be stuck with when you are skint.0 -

She said that she'd given them an 80k deposit on a 500k house to live in. No explanation of where the other 420k came from, assumed they would have to be paying a mortgage....0 -
