Secret Millionaire C4

Anyone watch this?

Did I miss something?

She gifted a potless single mum an £80k deposit on a flat. Nice.

However the flat was worth £500k.

How was she going to pay the mortgage?!

I'm confused.

  • I didn't get that either. She did that with 2 or 3 properties.

She'll be crying if she has a £420k mortgage to pay on no income!
  • I worked out the repayment figures and theres no way.

Yeah, same thoughts here too about the gifting of £80K on a £500K pad. I can only think that the properties were for the purposes of investment for the rental income. Looking at her website, she has made some of her fortune out of investment properties, so I guess she will be coaching these people to make an income from what she has given them, rather than living in the properties themselves.

She wasn't a potless single mum. She worked and so did her husband and they were saving uo for a deposit to buy there own house.

I also watched this last night and left me teary! Agree, she was certainly not a potless single mum. She was working with single people (parent/s), whereby she helped them get housing, further education, etc. I totally admired what she was wanting to achieve and thought she totally 'deserved' to be on the receiving end of this woman's generosity.

  • I also thought exactly the same thing - for both couples who were 'given' houses. The older couple - surely there is no way they would get such a huge mortgage??

also left me a bit teary as well, the little girl's reaction to being told about the stage school etc was lovely.

I also watched this last night both the OH and myself were left completely confused and spent 10 minutes trying to work it out. OH worked out she would need to pay nearly 2K a month on her mortgage

We just didn’t understand why the millionaire didn’t get them a more affordable property and put 80K deposit on that. That would’ve been a great gift!!!

I know the lady wasn't poor - but i'm sure she wouldn't like to spent 2K a month on mortgage payments, especially doing the job she does!!!
