Try here... http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/flights/Orlando/Glasgow/ and change the search to an airport of your choice.

Hi, I am going to Orlando in a few weeks and won't be hiring a car. There will be 5 of us - me, OH, MIL (age 87) and DD (age 8) and DS (age 5).

We are staying on International Drive and have searched in vain for a shuttle service from that area to the Magic Kingdom (our hotel doesn't provide one). My OH phoned a couple of taxi companies last night and they want $85 for a round trip.

Any help on cheaper ways to get to MK would be appreciated

    Thanks

There are plenty of shuttle buses that go up and down I-Drive to get you to Disney. If they do charge at all it will only be a few dollars. Just ask your hotel Concierge, they will be more than happy to help, they get asked this kind of thing all the time.

    Hi all,

Regarding car hire, I've decided that I want a 4x4 SUV (personal preference).

    I've bookmarked all the sites suggested in this thread (or the Dibb for that matter) and I'm struggling to get it cheaper than with these guys;

    http://www.yescarhire.com/usa/home/location/florida.htm

I'm happy with the price, so I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with them?

    Thanks in advance.

We booked a 4x4 SUV through www.usrentacar.co.uk it cost us £129 for 7 days Gold Cover, we were there 4 weeks ago, the car hire was through Alamo.

We are due to go florida soon but every time we have been we always have to pay to get upgrades. So this time we are going for the car we want.
The gold cover did you have to pay for anything when you got there like petrol?
Your 4x4 was it a small one or big one?
    Thanks:p

Hi, Petrol was included plus damage waiver etc.... Make sure you have everything you require on your initial booking, don't be tempted when they offer you bigger better cars when you get there!! When you go to collect your vehicle you choose from a row of SUVs, we chose a Jeep, it was great, plenty of room and easy to drive, we didn't have to refuel at all. :T

OMG that sounds really good value, esp for an SUV style car. I might not bother with Krakow this summer & pop over to my villa instead lol

Anyone know if this is the normal process at all Alamo sites, heard this before but never seen it. We are picking our car up at Miami and was tempted to book through Alamo via a broker because the insurance was slightly better than the cheaper option.

    Hi eslick,

I've used various Alamo sites. At the really big ones they do this. I've had this at Orlando International Airport for sure, possibly also at Tampa, can't remember. They don't however do it at the smaller sites such as the hotel based locations.

At Orlando we go and see what is there first and whether we fancy it (one stands in line, other goes look). That way we know when we are offered a chargeable upgrade what is in the car park. If there's only one sub-compact left we then hang around until someone else takes it and get a free upgrade to the next class of car up...
