lets clear up some of the basics
G24 are BPA CORPORATE MEMBERS, but do not subscribe to the BPA arbitration service so are NOT on the BPA AOS list, hence why there is no POPLA in this case, this is typical of IPC members
its also covered in the NEWBIES thread and has a link to a thread that explains this curious anomaly
G24 are IPC CORPORATE MEMBERS and subscribe to their arbitration service, namely the IAS
I think of it as like having 2 bank accounts, one with Berkelys that has the salary going in and pays all the bills, direct debits and standing orders etc, plus you have another separate account with Netwast Bank where there are savings and you may have a mortgage
totally separate, nothing wrong with having an account with both but using them for different things
in theory, each and ever parking company could be a corporate member of both trade bodies, but can choose to pay for and use only one of the 2 arbitration services, so that is why they only appear on one AOS list
for G24 , you appeal and then ignore, for 6 years, its that simple, no IAS appeal (again explained in the newbies thread)
a LANDOWNER or MANAGING AGENT complaint is best, you get them to get the charge cancelled, by complaining and not giving up, they employed the p@rasites so you get them to have the ticket cancelled
meanwhile you IGNORE any debt collector letters or begging letters, for 6 years
you come back for further advice IF g24 or their solicitors issue an LBC or an MCOL within that 6 years because its this point where it could become serious, until then its not
as for GRACE PERIODS, its generally accepted that there are TWO grace periods, one before parking where you park up, read the signs, pay if required and have accepted the parking rules, of say 5 to 10 minutes
there is another grace period at the end of the parking period of say 10 or more minutes to leave the site (as there may be hold ups, waiting for the exit to clear, queueing etc)
so I see nothing wrong with say 12 minutes as a total grace period when you combine the two, whereas 32 minutes is say unnacceptable
hope that explains it to avoid your confusions0 -
So now i just ignore?
Yes. This is something & nothing and all private parking PCNs are an 'outrageous scam' - so say Parliament, who are just about the debate the new Parking Bill again today:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/live/bbcparliament
Last time the MPs tore into the entire industry.
G24 do not sue people, but almost every case is cancelled by the retail park management in all the threads you can search & find.
Put G24 in as your keyword, ADVANCED search, and change to 'SHOW RESULTS AS POSTS'.
Everyone ignores them if they can't get the retailer park to cancel - and by that I mean the people who own/run the retail park. If the place has a local name, you should be able to Google and find an advert for retail units at the place and/or a newspaper article, both of which usually say who runs it. Commercial results from your Google search for the place, will give you an email addy to try a complaint to.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you - that made things clearer for me, i really appreciate your time doing that.
The management of the sitensaid a flat no so makes me think they may get a back hand! Nothing they can, they run it for them, they have X amount of signs etc etc He answered questions i was was going to ask before asking, as though he knew what was coming and wasn't going to back down. Even stated 3 hours was a nice amount of time to give someone, no other in the area do this! Oh how kind!
He wasn't from the area either, he didn't have our accent - which is a salford accent, wasnt even Manc - not that that makes a difference but felt like saying - your not even from round here or know the local people! He was so corporate!!!
Do I fight with them, stating it was 12 minutes, the toddler situation, my receipts etc? Directly to them? They have a pure gym on that site too, so some people spend two hours in the gym! (not me unfortunately, my membership lapsed but still have my own code?! Would they check with pure gym if i went there?!)
I would say 12 minutes Grace period is fair and not enough to Warrent £40! - I have a baby so getting her in and out of the car takes time, especially if she decides she doesn't want to get into her car seat ( 18 months old!)
OK so no point in appealing to them again on this ground, don't let them know the drivers details (i didn't in the first appeal just as keeper) and wait it out and see what they do then return IF a solicitor/court letter comes. Not gunna lie, the thought of that scares the sh*£ out of me lol0 -
never lie, but dont always feel you have to tell everything , its the PPC job to prove their case is valid, which it probably isnt seeing as you were delayed in parking whilst waiting for a parking bay and also delayed exiting due to a Q of cars at the exit !!! lol
file everything in a folder and any future begging letters into that same folder and get on with your life, dont keep banging your head against the brick wall of parking morons
the only time to dust off the folder is if an LBC or an MCOL comes in the post, which I doubt given they would be chancing their arm for a 12 minute overstay and have no idea who the driver was either
so file and IGNORE, for now , look after your family and IGNORE these morons0 -
No, stop looking to take action. G24 are to be ignored if the retail park won't cancel.Do I fight with them, stating it was 12 minutes, the toddler situation, my receipts etc? Directly to them? They have a pure gym on that site too, so some people spend two hours in the gym! (not me unfortunately, my membership lapsed but still have my own code?! Would they check with pure gym if i went there?!)
You could ask your MP to write a complaint letter for you, pointing them to watch the parking bill video from Friday (I hope you have watched it now?). Salford was mentioned, as were ANPR camera car parks that look like they are 'free'.
And promise us you won't come back screaming when you get the FULLY EXPECTED AND DONE TO DEATH debt collector letter chain!
