The law in France is they must sell it by law un-restricted to any network i.e. unlocked.
So it will be sim-free in France, but apparently their Orange contract for the Iphone starts around 300 euro's , so the unlocked version will cost more than that, but with no contract at all. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
Most over hyped product on the market for Xmas, you'll see it falling flat on it's face.
Way behind the spec of other phones, from initial surveys no-one's that interested, hence the huge marketing campgain.
Apple have invested alot of money in this phone and are in troubles already if this goes wrong.Mortgage as Sept 2012: £96,000
Mortgage free: When i'm 39 / Sept 2023
Mortgage repayment = £588

Being unlocked or sim free does not mean it will have no contract, it means you will be able to use any network sim in it but you will still have to take out a contract to get it. For example the orange contract iphone starting at around 300 euro's that you mentioned will also be sim free if that is what the law demands.Waddle you do eh?0 -
don't forget quidco for £35 per new contract
i wonder how long the debate for 'buy or not to buy the iphone will last':D0 -

Yes, I know that but it is being sold sim-free not on contract aswell as on contracts in France due to the law. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
when i was due for upgrade in august, i had a look around in carphone warehouse etc, and i told the guy i was actually going to wait for the i-phone to come out. he laughed and asked why and if I am really honest, i didn't know other than it "looked good". he told me it was actually useless for sms texting (which is the bulk of my spend) and the camera really wasn't too good either, and he steered me to the samsung G600. its a fantastic phone and plus as I was a good customer, I got the phone free too! I am on t mobile flext and pay £20 per month! the phone has a fantastic camera (5meg) and they also throw in the 2gb memory card (in addition to the 1mb included in the box!), card reader & bluetooth dongle. I would recommend it to anyone!:j Coupon Queen:jSaved £3880 since Feb 05 stopping nicotine!!!Spent £3880 on shoes & bags since Feb 05!!!!0

LG Viewty - 120 frames per second video - yes please! my contract is up in a month and my opinion is, if you want a good phone, don't get an iphone. If you want a wifi touch screen toy, buy an ipod touch
I'm gonna laugh at the first person i see with an iPhone0 -
Its not even 3g .
