Comps which exclude compers

I never understand this "to enter, share/retweet this comp"... Someone then shares it on here to thousands of people and they kick off.
There's more likely to be someone on here that sees it who will be interested in the product than on someone's twitter account, Instagram or facebook account.
The majority of my followers on twitter and Instagram are from people/small companies who must add hundreds of people to try and promote themselves and gain followers, and half my friends on facebook have probably unfollowed me for sharing comps.Make £10 per day-

I have found , and often bought, lots of products through seeing them on comps. Also, have often told other people about products I have seen on comps that might not have been my cup of tea but I know would interest them. Really poor excluding compers as though we never buy anything.
Though I do hate the comps that are run on social media for only an hour or something, without warning, in the middle of the day. Err, your customers are probably at work or doing some rl stuff like shopping or using things, so probably the only entrants will be people who comp all day.
And if you don't want to attract ppl why run a comp that involves sharing etc.2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400 -

I read a lot of books, I promote them by reviewing and posting on quite a few forums, I belong to two different real life (not online) book groups, I also keep three local rail station drop and swap bookshelves stocked up with read and collected books, I also happen to work sometimes in a Library ..oh and I'm a comper . Yes I'm greedy for books!
Going off subject from the thread a bit but I REALLY miss Good Reads - I got so many books from them and enjoyed leaving reviews. My local bookswap shelves don't seem to have much on them so I think I may have to start using the library again!0 -
The comical aspect to this is that Flaming_Nora, who bars MSE members because they are greedy, has herself been a member of MSE longer than most of us here.

OMG I have just seen a super cute waffle maker on Twitter, someone talk me out of buying one. Please!!!!!!!
Always look at what you are coveting and ask yourself, out loud, the following question: How often do I see the poor/homeless sitting in the rain with a placard asking people to throw pennies into the hat because they don't have one of these.
Now do you need/want it?0 -
Be wary of discussing other forum others as per the rules
Admins are overly harsh on the Competition boards0 -

But I've often wondered - it seems OK to take the proverbial if they're not on MSE, but how do we know....?Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0 -

Wandering off topic myself, but...
Have you tried Netgalley. They only offer advance copies of e-books, but that's better than nothing. Which is what Good Reads are currently offering!'...luck came to those who left a space for it.' Terry Pratchett0 -

I can recommend Netgalley. Had some fabulous books from them, just leave a review when finished reading.0
