Day one in the mad house that is hospital over and done with. Going to get an early night as you don't get much sleep in these places. Mind you, I'm due another lot of IVs before bed, so I'll get woken up around 11pm-midnight for them.

Lung function is up 3% though, which is good. Hopefully the IVs can push that up even further. Would love to get to 30% (currently 26%).

    Anyway, money making today:
    • Reached second target on Swagbucks and claimed another £5 Amazon voucher
    • Did £2.30 worth of surveys on Prolific
    • Won a £10 Amazon voucher from Bingoport on their monthly sweepstakes.

    February Earnings so far:

£35 Cash (received from Gumtree sale)
    £25 Cash (pending from Onepoll)
    £20 PayPal (pending from Mindmover)
    £16.01 cash (received from Textbroker)
    £10 Mastercard (received from Swagbucks)
£10 Amazon voucher (pending from Swagbucks)
£10 Amazon voucher (pending from Bingoport)
£5 M&S voucher (pending from Jisp)

    £131.01

Haven't gotten much done at all today:
    • Reached my second Swagbucks target
    And that's about it.

Nothing to add to the earnings, but I don't care, because I'M GOING HOME TOMORROW!!!!!:dance::dance:

So excited!! They did my CO2 levels this morning and they were good - like REALLY good. So they're very pleased with me and don't see any reason to keep me in longer than necessary.

  • That's great news emz, I think you get more rest at home. I'm just home after a horrendous 2weeks being in. I'm slowly catching up on my sleep as was living on 2/3 hour blocks.

You're doing really well on the extra income, keep it up!

I think you should be entitled to apply for esa benefit on contributions paid. It might be work calling the job centre when you're upto it x

I'm home :D:D:D:D - My Brother-in-law picked me up yesterday about 2.30pm and I went home with him to see my sister and the kids. The treated me to a Dominos and my OH picked me up from there after work. Came home with so much stuff. It was a busy morning trying to get everything ready, but so worth it to sleep in my own bed.

It takes me a lot of time to do my medical treatments now I'm on Ivs too. You're looking at a good 7 hours at various points during the day. I have to go back Wednesday next week for a blood test and dressing change and then I get the line out on Monday 18th - just in time for half-term :)

I haven't got that much done today or yesterday. Might be on minimum effort whilst these IVs are happening. They do make me so drowsy. I got paid today and it was slightly more than I was expecting, which is good. I have however:
    • Kept up with the second Swagbucks target for 7 days - 3 weeks left for a month long streak and a lovely bonus in March. Haven't done today yet though, so must make sure I do that.
    • Been accepted for a toothpaste trial
    • Received some Prolific money

    February Earnings so far:

£35 Cash (received from Gumtree sale)
    £25 Cash (pending from Onepoll)
    £20 PayPal (pending from Mindmover)
    £16.01 Cash (received from Textbroker)
    £10 Mastercard (received from Swagbucks)
£10 Amazon voucher (£5 pending/£5 received from Swagbucks)
£10 Amazon voucher (pending from Bingoport)
    £6.56 Cash (received from Prolific)
£5 M&S voucher (received from Jisp)

This Cystic Fibrosis lark is a real pain in the rear and so tiring. Here's a run through of my day right now:

    Morning:

    Get up, adjust oxygen
Put together nebuliser and get nebuliser drugs ready and mixed up
    Take my morning tablets
    Take inhalers
    Do nebuliser 1
    Take inhaler
    Do nebuliser 2
    Do physio
    Do nebuliser 3
    Start mixing up IVs
Administer IVs (including one that takes 30 minutes to run through)
Take Orkambi at 9am with food containing 20g worth of fat
Wash out nebuliser and leave out to dry
Go downstairs, fill oxygen up and leave for 30 minutes

Then I can leave the house!!

    Afternoon

Lunchtime IVs at 12 (another 30 minutes to run through)
    Afternoon inhalers
    Nebuliser 1
    Physio
    Nebuliser 2
    Wash out nebuliser
Sterilise nebuliser and leave out to dry

    Evening

Boil some water and leave to cool down
    Mix up IVs
    Administer IVs
Take Orkambi at 9pm with food containing 20g worth of fat
Fill up Bipap humidifier with boiled water
    Adjust oxygen

    Go to bed!!

Don't get me wrong, this is so much better than being in hospital, but it's practically like a full-time job just keeping on top of my illness. And it won't get better - far from it.

Anyway, moan over. Today I have also found time to:
    • Reach the second Swagbucks target and claimed a £5 M&S voucher
    • Yesterday I had an email saying I had won some Nuby Trendz goodies (that will probably go to my nephew) and a Micro Trike (which he is too old for, so I'll probably sell it - it's worth £80)
    • Got some more stamps from the postal surveys
    • Claimed 3 bottles of free wine which I'm picking up next week. I'm not a wine drinker myself, but they will come in handy for gifts
