High pitch bleep, burglar alarm disabled!

Good afternoonn
We are going out of our minds, our dog more so, the poor fella is distraught every time it goes off as must hurt his sensitive ears.
A few weeks ago a bleep started in the home. At the same time the burgular alarm (that was decommissioned before we moved in) started going off saying battery was low.
On the advice of the company we took out the battery and fuse. The panel has gone dead.
Fast forward to now. This high pitch bleep is intermittent but about hourly. It seems to be coming from the area near the burgular alarm in the utility or outside that door from a small box but I can’t be 100% as doesn’t go off regular enough to be close when it does.
The other issue I am wondering is if it is the fire alarm. The one down stairs is battery only, battery sorted.
The one upstairs is mains operated, with new batteries added. Would that make a difference?
I really don’t want to pay the security company £180 to come out and check why it may still be bleeping.
Any advice would be greatly accepted

Are you able to ask the previous residents if they have any idea what it could be?
The only thing that beeps in my house is the smoke alarm when the battery is low.
It might be worth checking these again.

Probably a smoke or Carbon Monoxide detector. Can be hard to detect where the beep is from too. Almost certainly a 9V battery that needs to be changed.
  • Thanks. All alarms including smoke and carbon dioxide had batteries changed this morning :(
Admission; there was another, very frequent bleeping as well, after a week or so I finally found an old fire alarm in the drawer in the utility....but that’s not what’s making this noise now. It’s a different one to that one.

Smoke and especially CO alarms often emit a beep when faulty or life ex, changing the batteries will not stop it.

Friend of mine called their alarm company out twice , first time they decommissioned everything , late next day panel under stairs was alarming again so she called them back .

Much scratching of head by engineer " can't work out how it's still beeping"

He finally put his ear to the wall under the stairs , she lived in a semi detached house , it was NEXT DOORS alarm panel beeping , it was in exactly the same position on the other side of the wall !

  • I called out a repair man to change the battery in a heat alarm on my kitchen. The beeping had been annoying me all weekend.
He took the battery out and the beeping continued! After some searching by his helper he found a carbon monoxide detector on top of the kitchen cupboard. Yup I went scarlet and paid him.

Thanks. The more I think the less likely it is then as the one down stairs (battery only) is on my dining room table and not noise at all. The upstairs one is mains operated but the bleep is coming from downstairs. All very strange!!!

Eeeek! Rather embarrassing!! But there’s 2 walls between this area and next door, but good thinking

    Oooops! A rather costly embarrassment!
  • So now son thinks he heard it come from the digital thermostat in the lounge, a wall away from the utility. I have taken the batteries out to see what happens once it dies
