Just 58p spent when last in work on Tuesday.
I need milk tonight from Morrisons, so will head there after work is over (on a stopgap shift tonight inbetween two other staff). I'd bought unsweetened soya to try doing my own vegan spread, as thought this would be more cost effective and healthier; but we've had to use it as we've ran out of sweetened (which DD2 prefers).
Don't need any bread asgot that from work, and had just baked the pack of sourdough mix aswell. Desperately want to try and do this myself and seen on Bake off thta someone did it with an Apple! I do need other bits, that I will confer with my half done online baskets to see if I can pick these up later.
I'm off tomorrow but have to walk to the local vets with the cat in carrier, so can't nip in any shops to get anything (despite bein all in the swme place); begrudge doing two jaunts into the town centre, when I can grab it tonight, so shouldn't need to buy much else (i'm hoping).GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July ££110.46/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Afternoon all
Top up shop from Lidl and Morrisons (can't believe went to a second supermarket as didn't like Lidl's mince pie selection although it was on the way home!) coming to £7.88 which brings us up to £61.12 / £250. Bought some frozen broccoli as I keep on buying fresh but a bit nervous it will turn out too mushy. Cautiously hopeful of getting to the weekend without spending more.Nov 18 Grocery Challenge (started 15.11.18 - target is half a month) £143.69/£125 -overspend £18.69

Monthly budget will aim for £300 £60/£300
To include all food, toiletries, cleaning stuff, cat food and cat litter, non alcoholic drinks.
NSD will aim for at least 15 5/15
Hi all, notched up another NSD today, still cooking from stores.
DM has given me £50 xmas savers stamps for moggies so might head there in the next few days to stock up on things that I usually buy there. Luckily...or unluckily??:D there is an Aldi just 5/ 10 mins walk from me so that's where I would normally shop from.
K9.....I have been making my own bread for quite a few years now but recently I have been making my own sourdough bread too, I'm now addicted to making it as well as eating it!. There is a fab blog where I have learnt so much from, it's called 'bake with jack '. After watching the GBBO I also added some apple to my starter.....and it loved it!
Good luck with it:T0 -
Have decided to remove alcohol from my budget, as would blow my budget already, £13.31 in Morrisons last night, mostly reduced ciabatta rolls, fruit pies, duck legs, minced pork, will portion and play freezer tetris later.Do I need it or just want it.0

Hi, please can you put me down for £25 per week I managed to come in £15 under budget last month. It's just for me and my pooch plus toiletries and cleaning stuff. Does not include alcohol. That's my next thing to tackle.
I've just done my first shop at Aldees and spent a fortune. I think I have enough for two weeks apart from a few top-up items. So I spent £47.22. Bought quite a lot of meat, tinned stuff and fruit. I actually menu planned before writing my shopping list so have learned a lot through being in the GC. I will be cooking from scratch and making enough for leftovers to put in the freezer. Good luck everyone.Barclay Card £3600 [STRIKE]HSBC CC £2587[/STRIKE] ZERO

We've spent £19.91 since last post.
Our fridge is full and we are around the right area for the budget for the amount of days in.
Tomorrow is likely to be a NSD as OH will be going out for dinner and I won't go out. I'll be having today's left over for dinner tomorrow, still trying to figure out what to have. Sometimes a full fridge is the enemy for choosing what to eat.
£46.32/£200.
£153.68 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
£120-odd (a few pennies under) spent between a quick non-perishables run yesterday, and this morning's market. We're good for most non-perishable things until mid-January now, but have drawn a blank for chick peas & butter beans. However we do have dried, so can survive on those if I'm organised. There will be a bit more spent on meat tomorrow or Sunday, and probably a swift visit to the wholesalers (who may have relevant legumes!) early next week, but so far, so good. Feeding 6 for most of this weekend...Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Bit the bullet and bought a frozen free-range turkey from the SM. Estimated saving is 50% on the fresh price from the butcher. I am considering whether to buy my beef from the butcher or the fresh counter from Morries. I do love the butcher so I am tending towards him, to support the local shops. I may not be able to afford that choice next yearSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

Spent £58 of the £150 budget last Saturday but a lot of the food bought will go in the freezer (3 for £10 mince for example) so should do for two weeks. £92 left. Will be doing another shop tomorrow so will update then.
Food planned this week:
Chill con carne with rice (using up one of those minces)
HM Soup with HM Bread and Pudding (new choc orange cheesecake recipe to try out)
Pasta Arabiatta
Chicken Fajitas
Spaghetti Bolognese0 -
@Suffolk lass that sounds like a great price discount for a free range turkey. Good job jumping on that. For next year, would you be able to allocate a certain amount per month to shopping with the butcher and the rest could go towards Morries?
@Doom_and_Gloom that happens to me all the time and especially OH. There have been scientific studies done about this in reference to decision making and then the resulting food waste. It’s actually better to keep one’s fridge about 50%— 60% full so you don’t get visually overwhelmed. Our fridge is a bit stuffed right now and I need to freeze some stuff to clear out some space physically and mentally.

The last couple of days have been NSDs and I was glad to have a break. We still have a lot of food in the fridge to last us the next 4 or 5 days I think. I just seasoned a chicken and I’ll roast it for my dinner tonight. I’ll likely roast some mushrooms in the same pan as chicken and roast the other mushrooms in butter and garlic for OH.
€6.17 spent at an organic store for yoghurt and butter.
TOTALS SO FAR:
€81.11/€350.00
4 / 12 NSD
After we left the store OH remembered he wanted a bottle of vinegar for cleaning. I’ll get that tomorrow along with some 2 for 1 berries we saw a vendor selling at our open market today. We returned home after the market had packed up for the day so I’m hoping he has the same deals tomorrow.0
