Genuine iPhone 6 battery replacement

I’ve had my iPhone 6 for 4 years now from new. Had a cheap battery replacement carried out last year locally and it’s already just as bad as the old one that was replaced. How much will a genuine Apple replacement cost please? And will they do it for me if my phone already has a cheap ‘non Apple’ battery in it?
If it’s done in an Apple store, do they do it while you wait?

Having a non-Apple battery in the phone might be problematic, pretty sure I have seen reports that Apple refuse to work on devices that have non-Apple components installed. Give them a try however, they might be lenient. I just had a 6s Plus battery and screen replaced, £25 each (still under Applecare+ however). It was completed in less than 90 minutes.0

Had my wife's iPhone battery replaced a few weeks back, left it with them and took 1 hour. Works like new now.
But as the comment above, if Apple find it's been opened by a third party they mostly refuse to work on it and will only replace the whole phone at something like £130.0 -
The £25 battery replacement runs out after the 31st December 2018.
They might not touch the phone if it’s been opened up by an unauthorised service provider.
Also something to be aware of......
What to expect
When you request screen repair or battery replacement, we’ll put a temporary authorization on your credit card to cover the maximum repair fee. This authorization will cover any additional damage we might find during the repair. If your iPhone has no additional damage, we'll charge only the requested screen repair or battery service fee.

As you have already opened your iPhone, you can ignore safely Apple's policy. You take your responsibility on your Smartphone, Why not? Yes, it is your phone. (Rights to repair movement in the US)
Don't buy any cheap batteries from eBay, Aliexpress etc, Check out the weight, fake batteries are 10-15% lighter. (Fake capacity with doggy quality)
The below is the high quality batteries.

Probably I myself would buy this higher capacity, as you will do this by yourself, why don’t you take the advantage of 20 % bigger capacity?

I have replaced some Apple devices (iPhone 5, iPad mini, iPhone SE) with all high quality 3rd party batteries, including Replacebase one. Purely technical point of view, you just need a high quality battery cells (Samsung, LG, Sony, Sanyo/Panasonic, Lishen etc) as you know, Apple does not produce the battery by themselves.
I am not against Apple Genuine parts at all, but Apple attempt to monopolise Apple genuine parts supply in the name of copyright protection with FUD marketing. They really want to scare you, only authorised technician /dealers can do that. I really feel that something is wrong with this.

Still Apple offers a decent iOS support, you can enjoy "your own iPhone" once you have mastered the replacement of your battery.
