Virgin Media Broadband Only?

Does anyone have Virgin Media broadband, no phone line and is it a lot cheaper than having broadband and landline phone?

I am paying just over £44 a month for both but hardly use the landline.

Last month I made no chargeable calls though I make calls at the weekend when they are free and was thinking of using just my mobile and getting rid of the landline.

I phoned them up a while ago to dump my landline and just keep my broadband.

They told me £40 a month as against the £44 odds I am paying so I kept my landline and just use it at the weekend.
over 73 but not over the hill.

In general you won't find it cheaper to have broadband but no landline phone service.

generally its not cheaper to ditch landline.

However when I said I was leaving for a £20 deal, I think at that point he could have done a BB only deal to match

Have a look here to see the type of prices others are getting. I'm paying £21 just for (50Mbps) broadband, but I think others have reported similar prices for either higher speeds and/or a phone line.

I've been with Virgin for broadband only for the last 4.5 years. Since it comes through cable and not a phone line it's a lot quicker (150Mbps) and I pay £38 per month for it.

You must be getting a deal or on a legacy package as the list price is Vivid 100 £40, Vivid 200 £45 , these are Black Friday prices, I paid £36 for 70Mb broadband only with VM less than a year ago
  • I am on Vivid100 without landline for £22.50pm for 12 months.

I don't think I'm on any special deal, I've never phoned them to negotiate. When I first signed up in 2014 it was around £28 for 100Mbps and the price has been creeping up ever since, but at some point they upped the speed for some reason.
  • I'm in your shoes OP - just want broadband with no phone. But every year I renew they throw in a deal with the phone line that often works out cheaper (we don't even plug it in..!) I'm on VIVID 200 for £35 pm effectively.

It's good to plug it in once a year, dial 150, and say
this recent price increase is too much, I'm thinking of moving to xxx
