NPower Final Billing
To those who used to be N Power but switched are you still waiting for your final bill?
I've had 3 letters from them since my switch all saying the exact same thing "they are sorry for the delay in sending me the final bill due to a technical issue".
Today I get a 4th letter confirming my DD as cancelled and that they will send me a final bill in 30 days then take the money direct from my account.
If the DD is cancelled how can they go in and take any more money?
How can a company the size of N Power not get its final bills out in good time......and the cost of sending out 4 letters? What a way to run a company.

If they have cancelled the DD from their end then there is nothing to prevent them from reinstating it at any time provided they still have details of your account on file.
More likely, though is that they will send you an email saying something like final bill is ready, how are you going to pay it - followed by begging letters saying pay your bil etc etc.0 -

If it is more than 6 weeks from the date of your actual transfer, then report the supplier to Ofgem for a breach of Licence Conditions

That's the problem with DD. They can still go back into your account even after you stop the DD. In the small print apparently. Couldn't believe it when my bank said they can still take money after you stop a DD. It's no wonder they try as hard as they can to get people to go DD.0

Yes my switch date was a month ago and I've had two emails in the last three days saying sorry your final bill is delayed.0

i was an npower customer 18 months ago, i left them due to a long dispute over billing as they could not bill me accurately despite me providing regular meter readings, when i left them i paid my final bill and the balance on the account was 0
on the 4/10/2018 they set up a new direct debit with my bank details they sill had and took £1282 from my account!
i cancelled it and got the money back, i am still waiting for an explanation as to why this happened!0 -

We know.
You started your own thread here

Vicky (from nPower) has offered to assist you,
I am sure nPower (or any other supplier) would not take any money from your bank account, let alone over £1200, unless (a) they believed you owed this money and (b) where the money is taken by DD, they have provided advance notice of this collection.
I suggest you take up the kind offer from Vicky, and try to get to the bottom of all this.
You may have got your money back direct from your bank (as they are obligated to do) but unless you resolve this matter with the supplier, they will still believe you owe the money, and may esclalate collection activity which could incurr you in additional fees.0
