Renting a car:- Green Motion?
Anyone had any experience of renting from Green Motion? Reviews suggest their business practices leave a lot to be desired yet their prices are very tempting.
(I need a car for a week or so in the UK whilst mine is in for gearbox exploratory work, which may or may not become terminal.)
Alternative suggestions (Glasgow/Paisley area)? It just needs to be functional.

I wouldnt advise Arnold Clark for anything else but in the past they have been ok for car rentals.
Or just use an online broker like holiday autos or car rentals.com. I have used both abroad with no issue.0 -
I have never used Green Motion.
I've used Enterprise a few times in the UK, (south east and not your area), and I haven't had any problems with them.
I don't know how price competitive they might be in Glasgow.0 -
Have used https://www.easirent.com/ref/ppc/price-match.php a few times - price not too bad but would advise picking up vehicle in daylight and photo any defects with whoever hands it over pointing them/it out, including underneath the vehicle.0

Thanks guys, i normally use auto europe. So not much info on Green Motion their prices really are very cheap but reviews suggest they sting you at the end for "alleged" damage.0

We hired from Green Motion, though not your area. Very competitive price wise unless you want two drivers and no issues at all.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0"Do what others won't early in life so you can do what others can't later in life"0

I used greenmotion at heathrow for a van. Very cheap 35 quid, no issues at all. None. Basically do not damage the car and you will be fine.0

A family member rented from Green Motion and was 'upgraded' on the day to a car with an existing issue which unfortunately she drove away with and checked later. She had to return the car, didn't get a refund or the use of another car for the three day hire and they charged her £810 job that would have cost £150 to resolve.
It's difficult to tell from online reviews as more people are likely to leave negative feedback than positive but there's a lot of very consistent negative reviews and I was shocked at the way Green Motion dealt with the issue.
Same family member has repeatedly hired from other companies without issue, the one time she did kerb a wheel it was sorted no issue and without the absurd costs of Green Motion.
There's a long thread on here about someone who supposedly burnt out the clutch within an hour of hiring it:
