Anyone sold a Leasehold Flat before? Who pays for management co info?

  • Thanks for all your replies! I got most of the info that was required from the paperwork that my solicitor was passed when I bought the flat. For the missing bits, I rang the management company and asked if I could have an appointment with the man in charge. When I met him, I explained what I wanted, he left the room & retured with a stack of documents and pointed me in the direction of the phototcopier! I paid 10p pr copy I made and that was it! I've just posted everything off to my solicitor, saying if the buyer's solicitor wanted anything else, they could bear the cost of it themselves...

    I don't think that there is anything stopping anyone visiting the company themselves and getting the info.. after all, it's not top secret info and I don't think they can withold the info from you! I would def make the effort (depending on how far away the company is) especially if they are going for charge around £250!!!!!

    Luckily there is no such thing as license to assign, just getting the share certificates transferred into the new owner's names... for which there is no charge!
