Nothing, except they may catch on:D and they are entitled to ask for the gift card back if you got 1 in the first place;)
Just do the voucher buying method, its safer and legal;)I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -

Once you handed in your receipt it would flag the fact that you received the £10 free gift and you would only get back £90 if you didn't hand back the £10 free gift.0 -
i did the voucher thingy last weekend. i bought 2 lots of £100 gift cards so i got 2 £10 gift cards free.i then went back to the till and bought myself a bargain 32" lcd tv which was £229 but then recieved another £10 voucher. so all in all the tv cost me £2000

Dude, we know you work for Argos or have done in the past. There is no 'fiddling' except the 'fiddling' Argos have treated their customers in the past. End.:cool:0 -
Is that not what you are all doing? Fiddling Argos just to get a £10 gift card that you'll probably buy something cheap with as it runs out in Feb, then come back on here and winge when your cheap product stops working and you have to get a refund onto another gift card!
You are all quick to jump down Argos's throat when you feel 'fiddled' but you don't seem to mind when you're making money out of them.
And so what if we work, or have worked for Argos! I for one am PROUD to work there!!0 -
Great. This is the reason why Argos has an insane rate of complaints to Trading standards for CS and so forth. Because they hire Arrogant and ignorant pricks like yourself to give your worthless input on forums just because they themselves couldn't honour offers that are CLEARLY WITHIN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS that they concocted. Hey it's your corporations fault that they print what they are suppose to honour yet change their mind whichever way the wind blows.
Congratulations for nothing. :money:
P.S. No matter how 'cheap' something is, you have to have a satisfactory amount of quality otherwise everyone wouldn't be taking products and items back even before their 30 day money back guarantee is over. Let alone the '1 year' warranty.0 -
Who the hell do you think you are calling me a !!!!!? You don't know me. You have just judged me on one post. You have no idea who I am. I am far from arrogant and ignorant and if you check out my posts on this board you'd see that I do try to give fair advice on problems with Argos and serveral people have thanked me for that advice. In my store I give excellent customer service and very rarely have a customer walk away unsatisfied. My store has been open a year and hasn't had one formal complaint as yet, not bad for arrogant and ignorant pricks like me! And if Argos is such a terrible company why are we the second most successful non-food retailer in the UK? You don't seem to mind shopping there, having pricks serving you!
Congratulations for spelling your name wrong... you put an A at the front, I'm sure it shouldn't be there.0 -
Let's calm down folks.
If Argos wanted to stop this "fiddling" all they have to do is make the initial gift voucher purchase not valid in the offer. They don't. The whole point of this site is to find loopholes where customers can get a little back on companies.
Look to the right, see the big stamp saying CONSUMER REVENGE?
But, Apathetically's tone is way over the top. You'd do well to look to the top of the right hand column where it clearly states:
"Pls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps."
Cheers

Actually it's about the general consensus people give on their perception of Argos. OK, so you give good customer service? That's pretty rare but congratulations for being in the minority. So would you honour the recent 'PS3 6 games' offer then? Just a query.
And Simon, that's exactly what i'm getting at. They're shamelessly refusing to honour offers which are clearly WITHIN THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS. This is the second time after the incident of which they've had a CHANCE to change the T&C. Are they teasing customers? Great customer service and consumer satisfaction when this type of scenario happens. Again, this is part of a rich tapestry of asinine logic on from Argos.

why is it that when people start saying about the T+C's, they never mention this one-->"We reserve the right to withdraw, alter or decline this offer without prior notice." .This covers them for just about anything, if you do get 3x£100 vouchers with £30 vouchers free thats fantastic, but if you are refused dont bleat on about it as they can just quote the above T+C.
"Argos has an insane rate of complaints to Trading standards for CS and so forth"-- do you have a link to these figures please? cheers:T0
