UKCPM System Lost my online appeal

So I made an online appeal on 12 October and called yesterday to check the outcome.

Apparently they have lost the contents of the appeal submission and only have a record of the fact that an appeal was submitted.

Should I resubmit the appeal as they have requested on the phone?

Thanks

REALLY ..... they clearly have no data protection in place

As this wild bunch are an IPC scammer, they reject appeals anyway as do the IPC.

Email them for confirmation of this for your records and also SAR them

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. It has even been suggested that some of these companies have links with organised crime.

Watch the video of the Second Reading and committee stage in the House of Commons recently. MPs have a very low opinion of this industry.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by in the not too distant future..
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • So should I resubmit? Or are they stuck as a result of having lost the submission data?

WHY ? They lost it so they cannot reject or accept, they have a problem with data retention .... not your problem

You have done as required in good faith.
What can they do ???? if they start the debt collection rubbish, it's off to the ICO for them

It is important you get confirmation from them either by email or a SAR

Personally I wouldn't; they've acknowledged your appeal and are therefore required to accept or reject within 28 days, (6.1(e) of the code).

Well the 28 days has passed and when I spoke yesterday i was told I would need to resubmit.

I'm in 2 minds as to whether to do so.

The car was parked not in a marked bay having replaced a car that just vacated the 'space'. Once alerted to the fact the car was immediately moved and so was parked incorrectly for less than 5 minutes. The Parking attendant gave verbal confirmation that no ticket would be issued, but clearly submitted the photos anyway. Sadly there is no evidence to prove this as the encounter was amicable and apparently resolved to everyones satisfaction.

Right now, they missed it, not you ? RIGHT ?

If you re-submit, you will open yourself to months of harassment because don't believe for one moment you will win an appeal, these guys belong to the famous IPC scam.
Debt collectors, and finally the bods who set up the IPC scam who are Gladstones solicitors.

If that's what you want, send the appeal in again

As said, right now they cannot accept or reject because as they lost your data, they cannot even comment

There is certainly a case for the ICO to investigate their systems

You need to stop calling them.

If you had evidence, e.g. an email from them, confirming that they had received your appeal, that a complaint to the the appropriate ATA would be in order.

I received only an email acknowledging receipt the day I completed the original online form
Thank you for your recent appeal submission, we can confirm this has been received by our adjudicators who will issue a response within 28 days.

PLEASE NOTE. If any of the mandatory fields have not been completed correctly, your submission will not be deemed as an appeal and therefore will not be responded to. It is your responsibility to ensure you complete all fields fully and correctly.

I was told on the phone, that the "discount" on the charge would be held until I re-submitted and the appeal had been assessed (I forget the words used)
