Hi Chums ,had a busy day yesterday drove to Bromley and picked up some lovely wool from JanB5 bless her( Jan, hope your knee op. goes well next month, and you are soon up and about again.)
Then went to see my sis-in-law and we had a good long natter and lunch then took some flowers up to my DB grave at Hither Green.Managed to miss the rush hour by a squek and got home around 4ish.
Blooming cold has arrived with a vengeance and feeling decidedly yuk this morning with a cotton wool head and achy joints, but at least my arm has improved and is losing its inflammation a bit .
I have History club this afternoon but at the moment I will play it by ear as I don't want to pass this cold on to my friends ,so unless it dries up a bit by lunchtime I may not go.Really feeling quite grotty this morning so I might go back to bed with a hot lemon barley and two little buttered paracetamols:) I am supposed to be going to a Christmas Fair tomorrow as well, Has to be a really busy week when I am feeling a bit crook. I did manage to get some fresh fruit and veg and a bit of shopping yesterday afternoon on the way home and was quite pleased as it was my first shop of the month as I am eating out of my cupboards and freezer and I spent under £20 from my food budget
:):) so not all bad
Hope everyone is OK and manages to keep warm and dry My DGS Danny in New York messaged me last night to say they had just had their first fall of snow so next week may be a lot colder for us
Hope Mrs TA is OK and fingers crossed for H/Harvey and anyone else who is not feeling too good today
Onwards and upwards chums

Good morning everyone and happy Friday,
Yesterday I played football with one of my colleagues and his group of friends. Frustratingly for me, I didn't give a very good account of myself but it was good fun nonetheless. By the time I got back to the hotel and ready for bed it was 11.30ish and I slept much better.
The plan was that I would start work early today in order to get away early, so I rocked up to work at 7am and nobody was in until now! So I got up and ready for no reason it appears. Furthermore, my Mum called to say that I might not be needed back in Scotland as some of the family will be around to my flat to help move everything out. I'm not due to get my keys to my new flat until tomorrow but I'll phone and ask if there's any chance I can get them tonight. If not, I'll buy a cheap hotel myself as I recon it'll be cheaper than the full tank of fuel it takes me to get up and down.
So there you have it. My current state of play. Must get on and figure it out.
camelot - enjoy your cosy day
Midgie - You'll be glad that the photobook is now taken care of. Now the sewing will take up much of your time!0 -
Morning, all :hello: - dull day ahead forecast for us today but not too cold - 13C isn't bad at all for mid November.
bellabella - thanks for starting us off this morning. Enjoy your shopping trip and hope it isn't too crowded.
ancientofdays - baby bear knitting is DEFINITELY more enjoyable than housework!
nmlc - hope today works out better than yesterday. Jacket spuds on the menu here tonight as well :j.
camelot - sorry to hear about your auntie - hope she's comfortable and no long-term effects on her. Hope today goes well in work - your costume sounds fun :j!
-taff - hope that paperwork mountain is simpler to get through than it appears to be. Sometimes these things are more daunting before we make a start on them .................... good luck.
redruby - enjoy your 'Friday Group' - just remember the reward awaiting you at home in the fridge :j!
Nelski - great news on the full night's sleep :T. Thanks for the update on Holly - such a shame about the mastectomy and I hope that she can manage to keep herself strong. Enjoy lunch with your friend!
dumpling - sounds like you've got a great houseful going on at your place right now:j. Enjoy your grandkids :T.
ScarlettRibbons - enjoy your day shopping and hope the blind works out well.
WeeMidgie - well done on finally getting the photobook finished :T - I'm sure it'll be very much appreciated. Enjoy your sewing group this afternoon
.
Bozwood - hope your DD recovers quickly over the weekend and that works goes smoothly this afternoon.
JackieO - hope your cold doesn't hang around for too long. Maybe best not to go out this afternoon if you're feeling so lousy. A few hours in bed with a hot water bottle sounds like a good idea :T.
Speky - hope your 'moving weekend' goes smoothly - an overnight stay sounds like it might be a good plan for tonight - especially if there's enough of them up in Scotland to get your stuff all sorted :j. Your footballing skills will soon return - it's probably all the upheaval of this past week that's knocked you a bit off kilter.
Thinking about all who aren't very well at the moment and sending ((((Healing Hugs)))) for anybody who could do with them.
Nathan sitting yesterday, took up my daytime - but managed to do two loads of laundry for DD AND blitzed her bathroom. Had planned to do all that on Wednesday, but there was no water supply at all ............... thanks to a firm of Builders working in the next street who managed to go through the pipework . Arrived home to be told that DSisIL was coming for a visit with her husband and youngest daughter. Not seen them for quite a long time DBiL has had a Hip Replacement, waiting for the other one to be done and been recently diagnosed as Dairy Intolerant so we sat comparing notes ............ his hip replacement / my knee replacements - his Dairy Intolerance and Ulcerative Colitis / my Coeliac :rotfl:. Their older daughter (15) has Crohn's as well.
Finally managed to get our meal after they left - Beans and Eggs on Toast.
I've got my Flu Jab this morning and a BP check at the GP's.
Have a good day everybody - luv Ollie xxx0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, especilly Holly she really is going through the mill and could have done without the prospect of another op.
Yesterday was tiring. I went in to Aldi early and then decided to go to the Fabric Guild and sort out some fabric for the order I have. I want to get it done and dusted, I do not want to be sweating on the top line to get it finished and posted. I was crackered when I got back, the shop is the other side of Leicester so a good 80 mile round trip, the traffic through the city was horrendous, thankfully I missed the rush hour.
Specky I guess you are getting excited now your flat contents are being delivered and you can get on with your new life in Manchester. Try travel Lodge or premier inn for a one night stay. You could ask your work colleagues if they know of a B & B close to where your flat is.
We were drinking tea at 1am, but slept through till the gardener phoned me at 8.30, he is coming one day next week to give the grass a last, we hope, cut.
I have DPD coming sometime today to pick up a parcel, hope they come before 3.45, we are going over to set up for tomorrow. Everything, I hope, is packed ready and strewn round the sitting room and hall ready for the off.
We had fish and chips last night, have brought tomorrows supper forward to tonight, I can cook it and it will just need reheating when we get back later, so chicken and rice, banana for dessert.0 -
Hugs to Speky, (thought you seemed a bit lonely) hopefully it will all go smoothly.0
-
Speky, not sure if you will see this but if you book a travelodge room (basic but cheap and I've never had a dirty room, which I have with posher places) book it online, it is often cheaper than ringing up. No idea why.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Hi all
Just popping in to say hello
I've had a busy week and there's another one looming next week too .
This morning we went to the garden centre to spend our vouchers and have coffee. We also called in to the meat van and then the local shop for milk, on the way home.
Tomorrow morning I am going to do a car boot sale with DD, as she has a lot of the DGC toys to sell and most of them are like new. It's indoors in a local church hall, so it should be ok. ( loos, warmth and a accessible kettle......... what's not to like)
Next week we have 3 appointments, Mr Fix It's oncology injection, a physiotherapy one for Dad and last but not least, a Dr's one for me. I can't go on feeling like I do as I feel that Dad is making my life a misery. So I will go and see what my options are.
I really don't want to moan as there are a lot of people on here worse off than me ( thinking of Dumpling, Holly, -taff and many more ).
Anyway this afternoon I shall make some tea and soak the dried fruit ready for making the Xmas cakes tomorrow. Well that's the plan and hopefully the cakes will get done, as time's flying by.( I really should have done them in half term, as I normally do .)
Tea tonight will be bacon, sausage, black pudding and egg etc.followed by ice cream.
Sending healing vibes to all the poorly people and hugs to anyone who needs/wants one.
Righty ho I'm off to put the kettle on..... may have a cup too, just to make sure it's suitable you understand :rotfl:.
Take care
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
DOn't be so silly, everyone is allowed to moan. So moan awayNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Hopefully we now have one problem solved; Mr Wolf's new bed rail arrived today, and was amazingly easy to deploy; it just slides in between the bed base and the mattress, and the weight of the mattress plus bed occupant keep it in place. So hopefully no more nocturnal fallings out of bed (only a matter of time til he cracks his head open on the bedside cabinet). Someone kindly sent me a link to one in one of the online disability shops, but when I checked, @mazon had the same one, and on checking further, they had a slightly sturdier model which actually cost less. So we bought the sturdier one, with some of my stash of vouchers. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
