Severe longsightedness in daughter

I'm extremely long sighted and wore glasses from the age of three. I can't recall being teased about it as a child, even though I had NHS standard ones until teenage years. I also had a squint which was operated on and corrected.
I changed to contact lenses in my 20s and have had these ever since (now in 60s), with reading glasses (magnifiers) for close work since mid 50s (like most people) which I wear on top as needed.
None of this has hampered my life in any way. I won a scholarship to public school (but parents chose grammar), have three degrees and a very successful professional career. I also ski, drive and do lots of close up activities requiring close vision (such as jewellery making and drawing). I used to surf and wore disposable lenses when doing that though my surfing days are probably now in the past!
The only recommendation I'd make is to be aware that sitting a distance from things makes life easier in some circumstances. So, if I'm in a formal lecture or watching a film, I would choose to sit near the back to get the best vision although I cope just fine if I can't. It is worth bearing in my for school though few teachers seem to be aware of the this.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
I was born with cataracts, and after having surgery to remove them at 6 weeks old, I am now left wearing glasses which are +16.5 and +18 (impressive right?!)
Whilst I had my fair share of bullies, I'd rather have my sight than not wear glasses.
Whilst I see what I consider to be normal, I'm still classed as partially sighted and that's fine with me. The only thing I can't do is drive, and whilst that has hindered my career, it hasn't stopped me. I have a first class honours degree, lots of friends, a loving partner and supportive family. I'm still working on my dream job but we can't have it all right?!
Make wearing glasses a positive thing for her - she can pick out some trendy frames. I know it can be worrying as parents (mine certainly were as I was growing up) but it isn't the end of the world.
Happy to talk to anyone via PM if needed.0
