Outfox The Market Direct Debit changes

That's probably your own fault for not fixing in the first place. The prospect of price rises is precisely the reason why energy customers fix. Going back a few months what I saw on MSE and elsewhere was advice to avoid price rises by fixing: So why didn't you fix?
I agree, I should have fixed which I am happy to take the blame for. Lesson learned but doesn't take away from the unethical practices of OFTM.0 -
They must not like you very much as every time i go on chat they reply pretty quickly. This morning when requesting a final bill 10 messages were exchanged in less than 6 minutes from me starting the chat.
I've seen the Facebook page and a lot of people are being quite rude to the staff on the chat and sometimes asking silly questions just to be funny or get their backs up which doesn't help.
They probably don't like me very much as I am costing them money being on a fixed rate tariff. I have 3 transcripts of Webchats that have lasted more than 90 minutes each since I am and have been trying to get the company to answer a total of 7 E-mails about a complaint that I submitted on 16/11/18. Any replies they have sent have been generic and do not deal with my complaint if fact it can be seen from the replies that they have not read my complaint.
As of tomorrow I will be escalating my complaint to OFGEM as its at the 8 week point.
Having worked in customer service for more than 30 years I treat others how I would expect to be treated myself. The companies customer service over the last 2 months has been nothing short of shambolic! This has been as a result of the management!0 -
Contact your bank and get the DD reversed under the DD Guarantee. Also tell your bank not to pay OFTM if they try to reinstate it (as they probably will do)
I did and got this message:
Before we can complete a Direct Debit Indemnity, we must ensure that you are aware that whilst a refund can be provided under the terms of the Direct Debit Guarantee if an error has been made, you may be required to pay back the amount refunded if it is later found that an error has not occurred. In this situation the organisation that collected the Direct Debit is likely to seek payment from you, which may include legal action.
If you are happy to proceed with raising this indemnity, please respond to this email advising what the error, debit date of payment and confirm you wish to proceed
As I don't trust OFTM I am a bit nervous of giving this my blessing as I don't want any legal fees. Although I am in credit I still can't risk this,0 -

Don't be too concerned as this is simply the standard "warning" that banks have to dish out before reversing the direct debit payment.
All it means is that you have to be aware that the recipient of the direct debit payment could chase you for the money if you did in fact owe it in the first place.
I have used the direct debit guarantee on at least five occasions over the years (the latest being a payment to OFTM) and have never had any comeback. It is, from the consumer's point of view, a superb tool as it forces the other party to have to justify taking the payment whilst you hold the upper hand (otherwise known as "the money"!).0 -
@Anthorn,
Your latest on the OFTM Consumer FB Group is a classic - so as a Mod I'm profiting am I?
I'd be careful before making baseless allegations, I'd also be careful about the fact that OFTM have some dodgy business practices, many of which breach the 2015 Consumer Rights Act on the delivery of services organised via the Internet.
Still, , 1,200 persons must all be liars in your book?
Are you in anyway related to the Bastian Clan?
Further, as I've not received a penny for assisting a large number of persons impacted negatively by the behaviour of OFTM since 13 November, 2018, could you please instruct where I can send an invoice too for my time given how much I, and several other Mods are profiting.
As for TrustedPilot, funny, but its awfully strange that OFTM respond promptly to justified complaints on those Review Boards, rather than actually deal with the backlog of complaints they have on hand via email, or do I take it those in need of assistance by their very nature are lying?0 -

Like trying to open a case against me on trustpilot, within an hour of my review, for "defamatory" comments, when in fact I am just reporting my experience with them. Funny enough they haven't responded to any of my emails.0 -

I think you need to correctly define the word "profit".
I think it is you who should be careful because making false allegations on a social media platform could cause you to be prosecuted.
I have noted that on Trustpilot Outfox are asking reviewers to correctly identify themselves so that their accounts can be examined and their complaints addressed. I have also noted that trust pilot are investigating some reviews for alleged contravention of trust pilot rules.
Lastly your promotion of the Facebook group in this thread on MSE is a matter for the MSE Forums Moderation Teams and there is no need for me to comment further.
The answer to everything else is 42.
Do have a good day!0 -
The reek of desperation is growing.
You do realise the OP of this topic was edited by MSE Andrea to include a link to an MSE news article that itself links to the Facebook group? But hey, keep on hitting that report button if it's getting too much for you.
Oh wow ... really ...MSE Andrea eh ... well I never ... ROFL
But where did I say I was reporting the promotion of the Facebook group in this thread? Quote and link if you please.0 -
There's some real !!!!!!!ery going on in here, particularly people threatening to "Roll around on the floor laughing" at others misfortune.
With regards to TrustPilot, they're soon enough going to get wind of what's going on.
We've all been screwed by OFTM. I was told mine was moved to UtilityPoint last Saturday, but I'm yet to see any billing (and they haven't updated the DD they took out yesterday which will more than cover the final bill)
We've seen EE go bang today. I fully expect OFTM to go in the next few weeks. At which point there will be lots of fun and games trying to get money back, final bills and so on.
Be careful some of you who you are laughing at.The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.
