Cultureless phillistine. Help for day outs in London please.

I am pretty new to this. Going out in general. :rotfl:
.
Very indifferent to entertainments. Can behave well in public places though.

I would like to take out my new found partner who seem to be intrested in me for some reason. :)
.
Little to no money left in the account at the end of the month. £100 per month for enjoyment would be managable, in the sense that essential expenses are fenced outside of it.
.
My partner would be from a completely different culture, can't think of many other than a film or a restaurant.

May I ask if anyone is willing to make any suggestion where I can take partner out in London. :o
Sorry for being such a downer. Hopeless but trying my best to be romantic. Just don't know where to start. (Pubs are a no go, or maybe? We both don't drink)

Aren't all museums and things free - National Gallery, the V&A often have lovely exhibitions. Boat trip down the Thames.

Tate Modern is spectacular... and of course you are protected from the rain.

Thank you both of you! :)

Tate Modern, I have never been there. All these years in London. Sigh.
This might work out with their parents evening together. :o Oh yes, they are here and it's too complicated.

Thames Trip... It didn't even cross my mind! :D and I am crossing the river via the foot tunnel every blooming day. Thank you! I would reserve this as a special trip for just us alone. :)

Greenwich can be a nice inexpensive day out. Take in the view from the top of Greenwich Park and take a look around the Planetarium (shows cost but looking at the exhibits and photos is free). When it's dark you can see the Meridian Line beam from the Observatory over Greenwhich. See the Martine Museum, Queens House, go for a wander around the Old Royal Naval College and see the stunning Painted Hall. Look at the stuff for sale at Greenwhich Market, buy some some of tasty international food there and go eat it by the river. Then catch the Thames Clipper for a cheap boat ride up to the Southbank.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

Brilliant. Thanks for the write up.
Sounds like my kind of day, with a book perhaps! Like a cherry on the top :)

Honestly, I would have liked a day like this on my own. Together with the trip on the clipper, it might work with the partner too! Hope they like it.
I have seen the college full of students sometimes. Have to do some research before! :o
    Thank you!

If you all live in London, try museum of London - and nearby Postman's park for a picnic lunch.

Or a walk along the south bank fro Tower Bridge to Westminster Bridge or further taking in the Tate Modern.

For clarity. museums and galleries are free, but the temporary exhibitions are usually charged for. I love the National Gallery, and it's easy to spend a whole day there just wandering the huge permanent collection which is completely free, but if you want to go into see "Courtauld Impressionists" or "Mantegna and Bellini" (the two current exhibitions, both of which are very good) then they cost to enter.
