I destroyed them because ebay told me to

However they advised me that the items needed to be returned to the seller in order to obtain a refund

The seller advised that if I return the goods he would refund me. I went back and forth with eBay until I finally was told by them to sign a legal affidavit and destroy the items.

You were initially told to return the items, but you didn't do that (due to some kind of moral outrage). So clearly "eBay told me to do it" isn't your motivation.
You badgered ebay until they have you then answer you wanted.

You're also not really in a position to call anyone else sanctimonious.

Seller: Would anyone like to buy this FAKE Rolex watch for £10
    You: Yes, I'll buy one.
    [1 minute later]
You: Wait a minute, this Rolex is fake
Seller: Yes... like I said. But if you can have a refund if you're not happy, just give me the watch back.
You: NO! It's illegal to sell fake watches.
Seller: But I told you they were fake before I sold it to you
You: Well I wasn't paying attention
Seller: Riiight, but you thought you got get a *real* Rolex for £10... OK. Anyway, just give me the watch back and you can have your money back.
You: No, never. You are bad man
<drops watch onto floor and stamps on it>
You: Ha! take that fake watch seller. Now, give me my money back.

How is this a productive use of your time? I asked for advice and I get a barrage of snotty accusations. If you have nothing of quality to say, dont bother. I wont be responding to any nonsense.

Any chance of a link to the item?

No not thats what happened. Gosh i would never ask for advice on here again. Some very rude and judgemental people. No thanks.

Why do you think its ok to sell a replica of a design???

i dont think anyone has stated it is okay to sell replica design, we are NOT Ebay and sellers legal representatives. As you will not put up a link or the add itself that you refer to, the item ,cost etc, like many have suggested, it is difficult for anyone to give you any further advice or opinions on the matter than what has already been stated

just because you do not like the advice and the opinions given (that you have asked for) doesnt mean you need to get stroppy about it

take it as a learning experience and move on

The item is a replica. As stated numerous times.

I genuinely thought people may have advice instead I got a barrage of accusations. I wont even look at this thread again it was absolutely useless.

What Ive learned is that this was useless.

not a barrage of accusations, but a full story and request for more info is usually helpful as well (just a thought)
good luck on your future endeavours

Let me have a guess, the sale page doesn't state counterfeit as stated in your OP, therefore you put a link, you'll be found out.

If the sellers page didn't state the items were counterfeit then the OPs actions would have actually been reasonable.
