Organza, am I right in thinking that the job was at dinner time? Ok, you didn’t apply for it then, but you could always contact the school now and ask them if they need relief staff? I work in a school and we are always needing extra, especially at this time of year.
As relief, you don’t have to commit to everyday especially as you have your granddaughter to consider.0 -
...Nelski, it might be as well to start researching what you can and cannot do now. When my MIL went a bit, the doctor wouldn't discuss it with us at all, nor make appointments for her without her knowing, we were lucky in one way, she lived in a council house, so there wasn't that worry, but a POA was needed for her finances, but was never applied for in time, so all that was quite messy. I wish you luck getting her to the docs and all that follows.
Yes I have already done that and I have a POA both health and finance but wont be invoking it yet. Mum and dad were well on the ball and arranged POA and funeral plans years ago thanks to advice from Saga magazineShes not there quite yet but thanks for your thoughts

My DM put a POA in place a number of years ago - as she's very deaf I use the financial part of it for her. The welfare part needs to be further registered if DM loses capacity. Saying that, her GP and the practice staff know to call me because of the deafness.
My teaching went fine, though I finished 30 minutes early as my voice was giving out. Then I went round town dropping off paperwork and posting stuff. Talked myself out of shopping as I had enough in the fridge. There was some pesto and basil ravioli with a UB date of yesterday, it was very tasty.
The double delivery company told me to keep the second delivery :j I feel quite guilty as I told them that the first parcel hadn't arrived so they rushed out a free replacement. Both arrived in the same post so I emailed the company to say I was returning one parcel. Think they are being very generous in their response.
Tomorrow's student won't be in again so I'm going down to DMs first thing. Washing load done and dish washer load done too. Bird feeders filled, stuff taken out to the barn and the big parcel for A mazon sorted out. Now it's coffee time!0 -
Organza_Lace wrote: »Ooh thanks for that. :T Do you make porridge with water or milk? White or brown rice? Sorry for the questions.
Porridge made with water, then milk added for the people, but not the dogs. Never given my dogs milk as one of them got upset tum, so just carried that on with subsequent ones, although given a spoonful or two of rice pudding now and then if needed tempting.
Rice has usually been white, easy on the tummy, but think brown would be healthier for them and me:eek:
Mashed sardines/pilchards (just a little at a time as very rich) either oil or tommy sauce have been useful when appetite poor, when I open a tin for me there is always an expectant face looking at me:D HTH:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
My oldies in the past have done well on scrambled egg, porridge, cheapie frozen white fish cooked in a spot of water in microwave dish with lid on to help against the smell mixed with some cooked rice. Frozen chicken livers in tubs from SM can be chopped small or whizzed in blender/FP. Will come back later if I remember more. Note to self this furry will not touch porridge!
Definitely use water if making porridge for dogs; their digestive systems aren't well equipped to deal with cows' milk, even when they're in the best of health.
My frequent guest Suzie is lacking in the tooth department; she manages small-bite kibble softened with water without any problem. Or you could even mash it up with the back of a fork once the water's softened it.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi late posting today. Yesterday my plans changed as dd was I’ll when she should have got up for school. So had to ring people to rearrange my day as I was cleaning for my old ladies as well as at the school. She’s was much better later on and went to school this morning.
