    Morning folks.

Up with the lark as teaching this morning first thing. I'm still coughing and spluttering and my voice is croaky though I feel much better. I'm hoping that two hours of lots of speaking won't be another setback. Last night I spent a wee while sneezing like a mad thing.

Yesterday I had a very quiet though busy'ish day. I caught up with some chores - packing a return to L akeland, packing a return of a duplicate order from another company, doing paperwork and sorting some letters. I've now got a pile of stuff to go out with me. I also managed to mark some work from students which I didn't do last week - they'll moan but I don't care! I'm not going to do anything whilst ill in bed.

There's one more return to Amazon to pack but that can wait until when I get home today, it's bigger and needs more attention. It's a dehumidifer which failed so it needs to go back. I already have the replacement which arrived last week.

Right, need to make a move towards the car.

    Happy Wednesday to everyone.
  • Good morning chums,

Terrible nights sleep last night. Tossing and turning. Still hadn't slept by 1am. Subsequently, I've not been to the gym again this morning either. I might however give it a bash later today, we'll see how I feel.

Last night for dinner I opted for soup in the hotels restaurant which was £4 something. Not ideal but it'll do. I'll be a bit smarter tonight and shop for some bargains in the nearby supermarket.

My DM and Gran spent a couple of hours at my flat in Scotland last night to help pack and clean the flat in advance of leaving for good on Saturday, which was very kind of them. I'll need to get them a little thing to show my thanks.

bella - That doesn't seem particularly fair on your DS. What about approaching other parts of the regular army?
Nelski - Glad the lunch went well yesterday, I could feel my heart sobbing reading that story though.
Organza - If you're looking for a small job quickly, I recon lots of places will be hiring in the build up to Xmas
Midgie - You nearly made me spray my coffee everywhere hahahaha!!!

Did one lot of forms and followed up the two phone calls. Did try to book a place on a Look Good Feel Better thing [I hardly ever wear makeup but I need a couple of eyebrows to not look like scary mary] and I rang and left a message as instructed, no-one got back to me. Will ring again today and see what happens.
Form filling today, or a start on the big one. I might make it to the shower and put some clothes on today,,,I might not :) Weather seems OK today so if it continues and I do get dressed, a potter to clear some plants from the front garden might occur.

bella, work is work, so good for him, and err...300? Blimey...Although I could see my house needing probably double that :) camelot, hope your friend does well and enjoy the present wrapping. I do ty every year but I've never tried accompanied by mince pies and snowballs...I might tey that this year...Nelski, it might be as well to start researching what you can and cannot do now. When my MIL went a bit, the doctor wouldn't discuss it with us at all, nor make appointments for her without her knowing, we were lucky in one way, she lived in a council house, so there wasn't that worry, but a POA was needed for her finances, but was never applied for in time, so all that was quite messy. I wish you luck getting her to the docs and all that follows. nmlc, hapy anitcipating time off :)
OL, those conversations are always rubbish, but he doesn't seem to have taken it the wrong way? Hope Blackun continues to improve but with less carrying :) AOD, glad to hear there was more sleep in your past.. Gers, glad you're better. I drive past a petrol station where I live sometimes and there seems to be a vending machine for Amazon there, must have a closer look one of these days to see exactly what it does. Speky, have you caught the no sleep disease? Hope you have a better one tonight, maybe just the first week settling in and your head trying to organise your week and moving without telling you it was...Hope Poppy and Holly are doing OK, also CHS and snoozers DD.
Happy Wednesday all, for a second there, I thought it was Tuesday....oops...

  • Haha, Speky! The teenager's now in her late 30's, so thankfully the aliens have returned her! I didn't enjoy my teens, being betwixt and between, neither child nor adult and no roadmap, and in my case no constructive guidance. And feeling like the ugly duckling. Definitely a stage in life I don't remember fondly!

Taff, you have a lot to cope with just now. Sending extra hugs xxx

Good morning all, slept in a little this morning and not nocturnal wanderings to the loo so feel more rested:D

Sending healing vibes and hugs where needed, particular shout our for Holly, Polly, taff, Csarina, Hester's OH, TA, Gers DM and all our beloved four legged friend.

Bella thank you for the new thread, tough on your DS about the TA.
Weemidgie still giggling about the teenage transformation:rotfl:
Specky lovely of your DM and ran to do that, I am sure that they enjoyed doing that for you.
Gers hope the voice hold out OK, these bugs do seem to linger on.
Nelski I hope that your journey to my beloved Lake District goes well and is fruitful for the future.
ScarletRibbons I hope that the sun shows itself for you.
Organza_Lace it must have been hard having that conversation, but necessary.
redruby the thought of that casserole is making me feel hungry
ancientofdays your planned day sounds great (apart from the ironing that is)
nmlc Fingers crossed a productive day is on the cards for you, great to have the leave to look forward to.

A lot of tidying required here and need to look at the meal plan, shattered by the time I got back yesterday. OH did a quick shop at T*sco and we tarted up a frozen GF pizza for tea with a crunchy salad, I had let myself get dehydrated so that was lovely. Kint N Natter this afternoon, will be good to let my hair down with the girls for a couple of hours. I have managed to make a tidy job of joining a snood I finished a while ago, small project of the moment is a pair of hand warmers in dark and light blue, soft real wool. (One of my pet hates is the term wool being used for yarn that doesn't contain any wool at all, roll eyes smiley anyone? we all have our funny little ways I guess)

Hugs and spoons (sorry not the type needed in that lunch box OL - still smiling about that:)

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

I am still drinking the bicarb in water, appointment next Monday, I will not go and sit in the open surgery, I cannot have the flu jab and heaven knows what is flying round there, its always packed in the mornings, everyone coughing and snivelling.

Had a tiring day yesterday. Huge parcel arrived, cleaner came and DD2 along with Goshia and baby Ella, its the first time Goshia had been to see us here. Wee one is putting on weight, doing very well, she slept most of the time as babies that age do. It was lovely to see them. I was shattered after they had gone so a swift Nana nap on the settee, consequently I missed half of the Escape to the Country programme, hey ho. I can watch it on catch up.

Beef and bean casserole tonight, will do the veg in a mo, want to finish sorting out the sewing room, its in a bit of a mess. We also need to sort through the stuff for the sale on Saturday, some of it needs pricing up. Have not heard anything from the school, they promised to ring me either Monday or Tuesday no sign yet.

    Right away to get on.........
  • Organza_Lace that's excellent work with the lunchbox, keep it up and he'll start doing his own.

taff those amazon machines are pick up places, my OH sometimes uses them if he isn't sure that he will be in for a delivery, I think they email a code to you which unlocks it.

Have done some tidying and cleaning, reassembled vacuum cleaner which I took apart for filter removal and cleaning yesterday, waiting for the final moments of washing machine to complete and then the dreaded ironing. Odd that I typed in the word dreaded, auto complete thingy immediately supplied the word ironing. It knows!

Had a chat with DS last night which I hope has cleared the air.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Told him he was an electrician and to improvise.:D

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I couldnt do that, he is out on a morning at 6am and back at 8 at night. Full manual shift and 4 hours driving. Its killing him....He recons he wont make it to 60. Only another 5 years!:)

Spent an hour on the phone with the mental health team regarding Prodigal... all they need now is his permission to get involved.... Good luck with that! Talking about Prodigal, he has his second PIP meeting this afternoon. Fingers, toes, legs, arms crossed and all that. I'd cross my eyes if i thought it would help.:)

Anyone got any ideas as what pate type food to feed Blackun. With very little teeth in her head she is struggling with her usual kibble even though its made soft with warm water. Its not quite soft enough.

Csarina does the bicarb seem to be helping? I remember my Dad taking it regularly for indigestion. It worked as far as i could tell from the loudness of his burps. Strangely enough he didnt need it when he quit smoking.

My oldies in the past have done well on scrambled egg, porridge, cheapie frozen white fish cooked in a spot of water in microwave dish with lid on to help against the smell mixed with some cooked rice. Frozen chicken livers in tubs from SM can be chopped small or whizzed in blender/FP. Will come back later if I remember more. Note to self this furry will not touch porridge!

  • After on all ;) didn’t quite make it before noon :D Apologies for not posting :o & need to catch up on the reading as well :o
Sending copious gentle &/or bear type (((HUGS))) to everyone whether you want them or not :rotfl:
Yesterday was a poor day for housework/decluttering BUT I have a good excuse :D as I finally met up with my male friend & my female friend (originally met at work about 25 years ago, went our separate ways but used to meet up about 3 times a year. Unfortunately RL got in the way the last couple of years :() Had a nice pub lunch, couple of drinks & coffees plus caught up on two years of news :D:T Had a lovely time, then male friend went home (longish journey home) & the 2 Ladies (I use that term loosely for myself :rotfl:) did a bit of banking & then went to a pub & had a couple more drinks & more chat - she has been going through a tough time the last few months :( Parted ways & each made our way home. I was out of the house from 10:45 to 19:30  so not a lot of time for housework but after a quick snack I did do some knitting :)
Today is a lovely sunny day again :T. Plans are to re-sort the two freezers contents & redo contents lists, write a menu plan & vacuum the whole house - fingers crossed I manage to get these tasks done :rotfl:

Hope everyone has as good a day as possible
