Cool-off for booking error online

Are you sure as the BA rep whom I was speaking indicated she was reading me the rules applicable to my booking?
Absolutely sure I'm sorry to say, the void option will not show either.
Fares rules have 31 paragraphs covering anything from what flight number can be used for that fare, min/maximum stay, days of week, changes, cancellations/refund etc etc over for instance 12 different economy booking classes some maybe similar many not.
Each paragraph covers the same topic across all airlines as per IATA rules.
Its a minefield and I have never seen the 24 hour cancellation or void option listed.
Im afraid that you, like many other will have only the option of a tax refund and even then most of that will be swallowed up in admin charges.
The only other option might be to see how much it will cost to change the dates, most BA classes allow that but here is an example of how odd fare rules are sometimes.
BA business class I is no changes if the booking/flights start in the UK, if it starts anywhere else in the world and into the UK changes are allowed.0 -
So don't cancel just yet as you will only get a portion of the tax back. If you hold off, pray there might be a schedule change which would then entitle you to a full refund.0

Good advice.
Had a similar situation a few years back. BA did indeed reschedule and we got all our money back.0 -

Good advice, but I have already requested the taxes back... how do you know if the flights are re-scheduled and at what point could I cancel the flights and still get the taxes back?0 -

If your booking has already been cancelled then you are "kippered" I'm afraid. If you have simply requested this then get back to your agent and say that you want the flights after all, and if they have not yet cancelled them then you still have a chance.
If there is a significant change to the flight times then BA ought to tell you. In any case, you can periodically check "manage my booking" online to see if anything has changed. If not, you can cancel and request a refund of taxes at any point before the flight date.0 -

Just checked - I'm "kippered".
will bear this in mind if I am ever stupid enough to make a mistake with an online flight booking again, though I doubt my marriage will hold together if I do it again... thanks to everyone for their kind words and advice...
