Car scratched by neighbours tent

Hi, first ever post, so my neighbour tied up a 2 man pop up tent in her front drive almost 10 days ago, a Saturday night, by halfway through the week one of the ropes had come loose she made no attempt to move it or secure it, she just kept parking next to it on a night, on Monday it was windy in the morning and she had already left for work when I went out and saw it had blown onto pavement and was now pressing against the neighbour on her other sides car, I moved it back, put a note and a printed photo of the tent in situ through this other neighbours letterbox( She was still in bed), the tent this morning has now completely cone loose and was found behind my car complete with some new scratches to my paintwork, my question is where do I stand with her being responsible for the damage to my car

That's a really odd reaction from her to you making your first ever post.

It sounds like YOU didn't secure it properly when YOU moved it from the other neighbour's car.

If you moved the tent back to it's original position then I think you may find that the responsibility lies with you.

It sounds as if the post ought to have been in her front garden to tie the tent to.

No where, you touched it last . . .

It was STILL attached to the rope, tied to a fence post, I simply moved it off the pavement and therefore off next door but ones car, and back onto my neighbours drive and it was still tied up when I left it, overnight with the wind it has come off the fence and ended up at the far side of my property and behind my car, I fail to see what is wrong with moving it from a pavement so people can walk past and not have to walk in the road, I do not see the need for the attitudes I have received on here from some people!

It was STILL tied up with one rope, I did not untie or remove anything I simply dragged it back onto her drive, YOU should have read the part that stated ONE of the ropes had come loose before YOU started pointing your finger at me

Did you let the neighbour know her tent had come loose?

Did you not tie the rope that had come loose to prevent it blowing onto the pavement again?
