This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning all
Early one from me as DS wakes me up with all the clattering about getting his bike out so thought i might as well get up and on with stuff DW is on tumbler emptied and refilled as i did a boil wash overnight as it takes forever will put all Dollys bedding on in a minute
Today is still quite mild for November but boy the amount of rain yesterday was unreal real sharp bursts of about 5 mins but absolutely flooding down. DS is off to army tonight to decide if he will stay or go he has taken a year out to try to decide and that is now up I dont think he will stay as he doesn't have the time to commit as he has a weekday job and his own business at the weekends doing door work.
Happy Birthday Holly:bdaycake: I hope you have an enjoyable day and get thoroughly spoilt x

Morning all and thank you for starting us off bellabella.
Back to not sleeping much and I'm starting to feel a bit disorientated with it, just need one good night really.
I will catch up a bit later but first need another vat of tea. Or two vats.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning All
Not a bad nights sleep but I do wake up so early. Still, I'll wake up once I get to the pool.
Nothing much going on here, must stop for kindling and firelighters on the way home or I'll be cold tonight! I put some coal on the fire before I went to bed and it's still glowing this morning so no heating needed. I'm going to try to keep the heating off this week as it's fairly mild.
Hope everyone's OK, have a good day if you can. Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
bellabella - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x We seem to have so many poorlies and carers for poorlies at the moment.
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark here, dry underfoot.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly so he can go for a run.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg. I remembered to get the chicken out to defrost so we'll be having chicken in sauce, probably have LO mash and veg with it.
Work yesterday wasn't too bad, although the telephones were busy one minute and dead the next, we'll see.
Fat club tonight, I really haven't had my head in the game this week, so expecting a gain, we'll see, will just draw a line under it and give it a good go this next week as I want to try to get to target before xmas.
Keep safe and well x

Morning
Thanks for the start Bella
Happy Happy Birthday to Holly ....Hoping you can try to enjoy the day as much a possible. Speak later :bdaycake::bdaycake:
Great day yesterday the group were fantastic so we had a really good course makes such a difference when they want to be there rather than just being told to attend. The drive there and back was pretty hideous finding the building in the first place took so long i was worried i would be late even with sat nav as Walsall has the most hideous one way system so make a mistake and I made plenty and your looping back round for ages again. Coming home was dark and raining and the older i get the more I hate driving at night particularly in bad weather.
Mum day today. Its her birthday tomorrow but Im away working so today is her birthday lunch. Ive got her a few bits to open mostly creams and potions which she no doubt wont like but the thought is therethink we will head to an Italian we both like. They do an amazing pizza ....uber thin....with my fav tuna and anchovies ....(yeah I know I know odd :rotfl:) Its always way too big for me so comes home with me for later.
Hope everyone has a good day....Speky hope you are settling in Manchester Jackie hope your feeling better today nan hope all is well think I missed your posts last couple of days.0 -

Happy Birthday Holly :bdaycake:
We had rain, hail and a bit of thunder yesterday afternoon. The sky was so dark at 3pm that the chickens thought it was time for bed and toddled off to their perches
I'm not going to plan garden time from now on, the weather keeps messing up my daysI'll just venture out there whenever it's dry enough.
I woke up at 3.30am, made a cuppa and led on the sofa. I managed to get another hour's sleep but wish I'd just stayed up, I feel awful now and will probably be ready for another sleep by lunchtime. The shopping is coming between 10-11am, then I'll take Scamp out. Not sure about the rest of the day, it depends on how tired I am

Good morning everyone,
Reporting to you live from Manchester!!
After a busy few days last week with various leaving parties/drinks/dinners, I drove down on Sunday to stay in a local hotel for the first week, just until I get the keys to my flat.
So yesterday was my first day in the new job. It's a small office that I share, with only 3 other people there but they all seem very nice and friendly. The job itself and my daily tasks are similair to what I did in Scotland, so it shouldn't be much of a shock. The area, Altrincham, is really rather nice, with lots of nice little shops and a market, so I've no qualms there either.
I need to get my MSE hat on as dinners aren't included in my stay in the hotel and I can't afford to eat in the restaurant every night this week. Might have to resort to a Pot Noodle in the room haha!
HH - Happy birthday! Hope you're feeling a bit more yourself
Silver-Oldie - I agree. You can never have too much, plus the calories don't count on birthday cake.0
