Heating Oil price per litre - EX VAT

I usually prefer to buy on-line, but ordered 800L of kerosene28 over the phone today. The rep told me the price is £0.5300 per litre, which seemed a bargain.
The only other information I was given was "Total price £445.20". I would have like to be told at least "including VAT", to remind me.
It's only £21, but it's like fingernails down a blackboard having to remember special cases for one dodgy section of UK retail when all the rules say they have to make VAT clear.
