I have used the TripAdvisor Website for many years but in the last few months I have found it be deeply flawed in the results it delivers.
I am spending an immense amount of time trying and usually giving up trying to find my selections.
I feel I can no longer afford the time and effort on this website but it once was a very efficient tool for making selections.Does anyone know how I can inform the owners of TripAdvisor that there site is seriously malfunctioning?

They have a support forum where you can post about these kinds of things. If you do, you should be more concrete about what problems you are experiencing.
  • Can you be more specific about your concerns.

TA can only be considered to be a guide as it relies on the information, provided by the users, to be correct.
  • As someone the other side of the fence (I run a Bed and Breakfast) I can say that TripAdvisor has definitely changed in the last 8 years I've been listed on there. In the past year the site has moved much more to become a hotel booking agent in itself as well as working with the other agents. It now bombardes the user with hotel room prices while you are happily reading reviews. It's how it makes money - every click from TripAdvisor to 'Booking.com' or any other agent makes commission for TripAdvisor. They have always done this but in the past year they have become very aggressive with this practice.

Not knowing what problems the OP experienced, I can't comment about change - beyond the usual septaugenarian whinge that whenever the geeks upgrade anything; from simple Windows 95 (which had the 30 tools you actually used on the top-bar) through its many incarnations to Windows 10 (with ten thousand things you'll never use hidden on myriad tabs), BT TV (the navigation shift from drop-down alphabetised lists to random tiles) or almost any website (why doesn't somone tell the geeks who visit trial "BETA" sites on hapless punters that BETA is second rate to ALPHA; ask any Greek)...

So gissa clue? I love Tripadvisor - especially the Forums with their content ranging from erudite stuff about resources for serious mountain walkers in the Picos and Sierras, to banal queries about the cheapest pint of cider in Beni" for those who can't bear the thought of drinking wine in Spain...

And as regards the hotel offers; I do like the reader reviews, once you filter out the obsessives, managers' mates and one-post wonders. I tend to flit between the booking search engines and the reviews, then, once I've chosen, really p155 off the dot.com parasites by googling the hotel, and ringing or emailing 'em direct to get the same or a cheaper rate- but all going to the hotelier rather than the scalpers...
