Good morning everyone.....
Some great champagne moments there. Keep them coming. They are a great reminder that often the best things in life really are free, especially parental pride and satisfaction in the achievements of our children. It's wonderful to see them growing, learning, achieving their goals and being happy. It always give me a warm glow when I see my children well and happy.
Collie ....well done to your son. My youngest has mild dyslexia and dispraxia and he too had to have speech therapy but I look at him now, so tall, so handsome and gorgeous, so smart and intelligent and I just think......"well kiddo, you've done good". :rotfl:
I have had a lovely week. Quiet but satisfying and full of little champagne moments and pure joy.
The highlights.......losing a few lbs in weight, sticking to my WW programme, eating healthily, sleeping well and just generally feeling very positive and optimistic that this time my weight loss efforts are going to,work. My head is in the right place and I just know that if I stay on track the weight will come off and I will get my blood sugar levels back to normal. It's up to me, but I'm happy, focussed and feeling good.
I haven't been out as much this week but I enjoyed meeting a friend for lunch the other day and a little retail therapy. All is good. Sometimes it's nice just to stay home and not do much.
The weather is a bit of a bummer so I can't get out and plant up my new shrubs etc but they are in pots so they should be ok for a few days.
So whilst the weather does its worst this weekend I am going to make a start on the back bedroom, get it ready for its revamp. I need to clear it out and lift the disgusting old pink carpet. It's a big job so I'll pace myself and not go at it in my usual bull at a gate fashion.
Have a great weekend and keep indulging in those champagne moments.0 -
My Champagne moment yesterday was going to see the film The Kindergarten Teacher at Odeon Haymarket with my Limitless card.
I found this film about a teacher's obsession with a 5 year old boy in her Kindergarten a bit disturbing but mostly sad. You have a mature woman who feels like her life is lacking and is dissatisfied with her marriage and her teenage son and daughter. When she realises that this 5 year old boy writes quite profound poetry she becomes obsessed with the boy and his 'gift' and completely derails her own life with no thought for her husband, her children or her career. I would give this film 9/100 -
bit late in the day but subscribing .
Only read as far as page 5...

My Champagne moments yesterday were going to watch the film Bohemian Rhapsody for the 2nd time at Odeon Luxe Haymarket. It was even more enjoyable for me this time, as I was sitting almost horizontal in a luxury recliner seat.
I went to Karaoke in the evening and had a really enjoyable evening. I sang 2 songs.0 -
We booked our holiday on Saturday!
We're only going 1 week this time but figured we'll make it worth it: in a nice, big, expensive hotel. :j It's probably the only vacation of the year so I'm happy with spending money on that! :Tweight loss journey: 3 KG / 8 KG
declutter challenge: 25 / 25 ✅ 66/100

My Champagne moment yesterday evening has left me effervescent with joy. :j:D
I went to see Motown The Musical yesterday evening and I had an amazing time. I was chosen from the audience to sing with the actress and singer Natalie Kassanga who was playing Diana Ross. It was only for 2 lines of the song Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand). The whole audience erupted in clapping, whistles and cheers when I started to sing. I will never forget my special moment in the spotlight. :j:D:T
It was a surreal moment having hundreds of people in Shaftesbury Theatre show me such a wealth of appreciation and approval.0 -
Sugarbaby you must be on cloud nine still, that is fantastic. xThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

I had minor surgery yesterday...a cyst removed...so my 'champagne' moments will be snuggling under a warm blanket, watching DVDs and drinking the 'good' coffee today!
Visitors expected later this week..not always my favourite way to spend a day...but visitors means CAKE!0 -

Wow. Go you. I too would be terrified, I just couldn't do it. In fact I would throw up. Sorry if that's TMI. Apparently James Hunt the racing driver would throw up before each race, that would be me if I had to perform on stage.
Butterfly.....how fabulous. Where are you going.
Well I have had a great few days, those simple champagne moments just keep coming, spending time with friends and people I care about, eating lots of delicious foods and still managing to continue losing weight - another 1.5 off this week, wahoo:rotfl: and some fabulous charity shop bargains.
I am really enjoying restocking my wardrobe with smaller sizes.....
Going to plant some shrubs, then have a nice pamper session and then out for dinner tonight.
Another fab day.0 -
